Half Time

No marching band, no singing of ATL’s theme song, and no frisbee dogs. Nope, you’ll get none of that here. Today is June 30th, the end of the sixth month of 2006 so I thought that I’d give a summary of the first half of this year.

This Blog: B
I’ve successfully moved from Blogger to Wordpress. Not only that, I’ve managed to get most of the information from the old to the new as well. Wordpress hasn’t impressed me, but I am getting by.

With the current instance of this blog I have two identity problems. First, every time I log in I am identified as InsideThePerimeter. This identity follows me into comments, where I’d rather use my alternative signature of “Paulie [eatl/ga]“. Also, while I am happy to be the owner of both the .net and .com versions of InsideThePerimeter, I wish that my only visibility was through the .com since so many more people identify with .com domains.

I will be spending portions of this weekend overhauling sections, attempting to locate useful plugins, and attempting to figure out how to add pages which display my iPod library and such.

Recorded Music: C
There haven’t been to many CD releases that have had me rushing to the store to purchase them.

As I see it so far this year I’ve enjoyed (in no particular order)

  • She Wants Revenge “She Wants Revenge”
  • Built To Spill “You In Reverse”
  • Arctic Monkeys “Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I Am Not”
  • Gomez “How We Operate”

While I have listened to these often there has been nothing that I am telling people “hey, you have to go out and get this!”

Live Music: B
Normally if I got to see Bob Mould perform twice in one year the concert grade would be an ‘A’. However, I’m not feeling that the grade is warranted. I have seen some great shows in addition to the two Mould shows, The Hold Steady, Se Wants Revenge, Gomez, but even with the tickets I have purchased for the second half of the year I don’t think that this year will compare to last year. In addition show cancellations and postponements have also lowered the current score.

Me (Social Life): C-
I’ve done a lot of things so this year, but have also skipped a lot of planned activities and have wasted money by doing so. In hindsight perhaps I shouldn’t have committed to so much, but a look at my future schedule shows no plans to slow down on the activity planning.

Me (Women): F
Six months, two dates, nothing on the horizon. That’s all I have to say about this topic.

Me (Weight/Health/Exercise): F
The fact that the scale still reads a weight over two hundred pounds bothers me. The fact that I can’t seem to cut down on my intake, nor can I motivate myself to exercise bothers me even more.

Me (Knowledge & Hobbies): A
The fact that I not only bought a decent camera, signed up for two classes in order to learn how to use it, and still managed to make time to go out and shoot pictures pleases me. I know that I constantly whine that I am unimpressed with my pictures, but I truly believe that it’s only a matter of time before I turn the corner (or at least learn enough Photoshop to fix my errors).

I am also happy that I have started to read technical books again and am trying to follow the reading up with tasks which require me to use the knowledge.

Me (Travel): C
This is a hard category to score since I have known for some time that the bulk of my travels would occur in the last half of ‘06. On the calendar are trips to El Paso Texas, Chicago Illinois, and Durango Monarch Colorado. I’m also trying to figure out if I want to burn my remaining vacation days and a handful of money on another pre-planned vacation later in the year.

And Finally…
I think that my overall score the first six months of 2006 is a C-.

An Item Which Is Not Scored
This might be both the scariest and funniest thing that I have seen all year (thanks to Swapatorium)

Have a safe 4th of July weekend and don’t forget to read this space on Monday if you can. Oh, and a Happy Canada Day to those of you crazy enough to live that far north, eh.

The Signs Are Everywhere

And I am not talking about this sign

A Fir-Ju Well's Marketing

btw- I was published over at Cable And Tweed today.

Field Day A Go-Go
After work we had a picnic field day in the grassy knoll, or hillock if you will, next to the office. Those who ran the hash that Cheese Nips and I laid in March would recognized this as our on-in.

I flashed my grilling skills by cooking up vegetarian and carnivorous burgers and then went out to school the kids in volleyball. For some strange reason my lower back, right shoulder and elbow are all sore today. I wonder why? I must have flipped those burgers a little too vigorously…

It’s Not That I Can’t, It’s Just That I Can’t
I’d love nothing more than to be the old Paulie who shows up to George’s Bar on Wednesday nights, runs hard, and drinks copiuos amounts of beer the rest of the night. However, last night the scale only confirmed what my shorts intimated, I’m overweight…. 205 pounds to be exact.

At this point I feel a little like the boy who cries wolf, but for some reason I cannot turn the corner and get myself into the mindset I had back in my olden days.

I’m Not One For “Signs”
But some coincidences are hard for me to ignore.

The Jackmobile has surpassed the 50k mark and while that’s mere adolescence for most Hondas, she’s had a bit of a rough life. Yesterday I started thinking about how I would handle a car breakdown. For those who have no significant other and hate to ask favors of friends being stranded sans auto is a real pain in the ass. Naturally, I started thinking about AAA (it’s the third ‘A’ that changes this bit drastically), a service I used often when I was a seventeen-year-old punk who drove a 1968 Mustang (and wasn’t getting laid back then either, some things never change).

Would anyone like to guess what I received in the mail yesterday? That’s right, an unsolicited application packet from AAA. I’m seriously considering plunking down the $60 annual membership as a cheap form of insurance. If nothing else I can get maps, and I will become a great person to take on long car trips (the benefits are not honored even if I am just a passenger in the car).

The Important Thing Is To Express Yourself

Sounds like Madonna lyrics, but it was my fortune from the cookie I got last night.

DAMMIT, I Forgot Again!
Today is the fortieth birthday of my former alter-ego wannabe John Cusack. Next year I need to put this into my PDA so I don’t have to update the blog entry.

Stacey, you should pop that child out today so that she’ll have a cool birthday buddy, unless you want to keep cooking until July 22nd…

Kudos, DeKalb County
On Monday I gave registering my car online another shot, and it appeared to have worked swimmingly! Yesterday I received my new $250 sticker in the mail. A one-day turnaround? Very well played, DeKalb County.

Should I Ever Have Another Girlfriend?
As I near the month of my forty-first birthday, I am wondering if it is fitting for me to have another girlfriend. No, this is not my normal rant that I cannot find a woman who wants to be with me (which is still true, just not the point here). Instead I have concerns about the term girlfriend for an adult male.

The term “girlfriend” seems quite natural for those in their teens and twenties. However even with “forty being the new twenty”, or whatever the fuck we are told these days, calling a thirty-plus-year-old woman a girlfriend seems odd to me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of these people that gets all uppity when women are referred to as “girls”, or men are referred to as “boys”, it’s just at this point of my life I am not sure if it is appropriate for me to refer to someone as my “girlfriend.”

I’m probably just overanalyzing this…

To The Way-Back Machine, Peabody
Last night I dusted off the memory banks and found something that I thought I’d never find again.

When I lived in Huntsville, Alabama in the early nineties we used to get a radio station from Nashville pumped in via a radio repeater. I was trying to remember a song I heard back then and the only thing I vaguely remembered that it was either done by a band called Government Cheese, or a band called Gorilla Biscuits; it was the former.

Thanks to the internets, I found a website for Tommy Womack, a member of the band Government Cheese, as well as a (malformed, but corrected below) link to the song I was seeking.

Government Cheese — “For The Battered”

Most people will not understand why I think this song is so great. It has absolutely no relation to my life other than I used to listen to it a lot back in the days when I was trying to find alternatives to the other music that I liked at the time (gee, some things never change).

Odds And Ends
Tomorrow, with any luck, I’ll have a blurb about A Fir-Ju Well and their final show published over at Cable and Tweed, a fine music blog produced locally. Admittedly it’s not the award-winning expose that you expect from this space (lol), but I did what I could.

The Photoshop’s up but the PHP is down…. I’ve yet to figure out what I want to implement in PHP, so I’ve decided to start to learn how to use Photoshop (Photoshop Elements really). So far I’m halfway through Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 Classroom In A Book. I’m amazed how much I’ve learned in 150 pages. That’s right, those shitty photographs you’ve been subjected to will soon be getting better.

Are We Sure It’s Only Tuesday?

Meet The Hashers Go Down In Flames
We gathered at Taco Mac last night for trivia. It may be the last time we gather there for some time as the host is really kinda annoying.

As an aside, I really can’t get used to not seeing the trees lining North Highland.

Going into the final question we were in fifth place. There were a lot of teams bunched near the top in part because the questions weren’t too hard, and in part because the host seemed determined to make things easier by asking some multiple choice questions and dropping some hints. Why weren’t we in first place then? Well, I guess we just weren’t that smart last night.

We finished out of the money

The City To Busy To Care About Anything But Putting Up Overpriced Mixed-Use Condominium Developments
I am glad that I was able to get a shot of Kool Korners Grocery before it goes bye-bye.

Kool Korners Grocery

When I worked down the street from Kool Korners it was a treat to walk down and purchase the best Cuban sandwich this city has to offer. When I worked near the Havana Sandwich Shop on Buford Highway, I’d eat a Cuban sandwich there that only made me miss Kool Korners’ that much more.

Last night I read in the Creative Loafing that a developer has purchased the land on which it sits and will be kicking out the current businesses. I’m not certain that they are going to build a condo on the site, but I’d be willing to bet $1 on it.

Please Get Off My Ass
Lately it seems like it has gotten really hard for me to drive around this town.

This morning while trying to get in position to parallel park so that I could get some coffee and say hello to Ellen this guy was all on my ass. I had put on my turn signal to park (which probably confused him) and looked in my rear view mirror to make sure he wasn’t going to plow into my rear end.

The guy put on an aggravated face and it appeared that he was going to go around me, so I put the car in reverse. At that moment he decided not to go around me and instead block my ability to back into the spot for some reason.

Rather than get into an accident, or even an argument, I threw the car into drive and sped off to the florist parking lot where I illegally parked in order to get some coffee.

Not really the way I wanted to start my day.

Clever Is As Clever Does
Over the weekend I purchased my first hydration pack. I’d call it a Camelbak, but it’s not, it’s a Novara which is an REI brand. What I didn’t purchase was one of those doohickies (technical term) that helps the bladder dry out so that it doesn’t get nasty.

After using the pack on Sunday I drained it and discovered that if I inserted a pair of tongs (long ones used in the kitchen) that they worked incredibly well at keeping the bladder separated so that it could dry out.

As a matter of fact I am quite pleased with myself for thinking of this thankyouverymuch…

CD Pick Of The Week
Today I am either not a fan of the artists (see “India.Arie”, “Dashboard Confessional”), or have never heard of the artists (see “Dr. Octagon”, “Lostprophets”).

However, I see that the Pet Shop Boys are releasing something today. Could it possible that they have new material all these ears after I used to listen to them? Is this the original lineup?

I’ve Been Up Since 1:30am

It’s now 4:00am and I’ve decided to post. It’s not that I am not getting any sleep, it’s that I am getting sleep at the wrong time. Last night I crashed around 9:00pm only to awake at 1:30am. Damn, I’m going to need copious amounts of coffee today…

I’ve Been Defrauded!!
When asked by my credit card company about a charge to “Emu U” in Tokyo Japan Friday I found out that someone had gotten my credit card number. While buy a lot of stuff I knew that this charge wasn’t mine because it was done with a credit card that, with the exception of one or two purchases, I only use for in-person purchases. I have different credit card for online purchases. Therefore the likelihood of me flying to Japan for this purchase is very slim.

Oh DeKalb County! (Technology Strikes Out, Part 1)
Last night I attempted to renew the Jackmobile’s tag using the county’s online renewal. Unfortunately I was greeted with an error message when I tried to process the renewal. After the problems encountered with my auto insurance a few weeks ago, I think that I just might mail in a check for the registration now…

Oh Cartersville! (Technology Strikes Out, Part 2)
Saturday morning was a lovely time to go on a bike ride. Had I known what time I needed to be in Cartersville and was motivated to get out of bed really early on Saturday morning, perhaps I would have found out.

On Friday night I went to check for the start time for the ride. Instead of getting a page of information, I was presented with a login page of some sort. It was at that point that I decided that if I was to wake up early and feel motivated, I would go otherwise I would find something else to do.

ISO Stupid Sometimes
Instead of riding I packed up the camera gear and headed out to hopefully grab the final shots necessary for the scavenger hunt and to play with my new lens.

One of my first stops was Freedom Parkway to take a downtown Atlanta postcard shot. From there I walked up to the MLK statue on Freedom Parkway and shot these (as well as some others which I didn’t like)

Tell It To The Hand

I Have A Dream

After I got back into my car I had a good chuckle as I saw a young woman walking on the overpass with a camera. My first thought was to stop and chat, but I was hungry and morning sun only lasts for so long.

I ate breakfast at the Silver Skillet, went to a secret location to get some hazy summer day shots of downtown, and then did a little photostroll along 14th Street.

Overall I’m still dissatisfied with my photos. In part because I forgot to reset my ISO therefore some of my shots were shot at 800 when they didn’t need to be, and in part because I feel like I’ve hit a plateau and need to have a breakthrough in order to get to the next level.

Beefing Up The Social Calendar
A glance over to my calendar on the right you’ll notice that it is once again growing. I purchased a ticket to the Braves game for Wednesday, July 5th. I plan on skipping the George’s run that night and instead drag the camera down to Turner Field for some experimentation.

In addition I’ve added a nerdy meetup at The Highlander on July 11th, and the next APWBWGTTD on July 21st.

btw- I’m still looking for a way to avoid massive Ticketmaster charges for shows at the Tabernacle. Does anyone know anything about their box office?

Afternoon Delight

And Here I Thought I Would Train…
I am scheduled to do a fifty-five mile bike ride in Cartersville (way OTP) tomorrow. When I signed up for the event I had started riding for the season and thought that I would have many miles on the tires by this time. Anyone who has been keeping tabs on my exercise blog at the bottom will know that I have not been riding in some time. Ooops. Perhaps I’ll start doing a rain dance tonight.

Corndogs, Birthdays, And A Gathering Of Gays
Somehow it’s once again time for The EARL’s annual Corndogorama! Given my proximity to The EARL and a love for corndogs I just might seen there this weekend.

I’ll also be attending a birthday party for my friend Kat this weekend. I’m bringing an appetizer of jalapenos stuffed with peanut butter. I know, I thought it sounded disgusting too until I tried it.

While I personally don’t have “the gay” I’ve seen the newsletter and know that this is Gay Pride weekend in Atlanta. If I can find the time me thinks that I might be taking the camera around midtown for a good photo opportunity, weather permitting of course.

Anyone Know Of A Place To Buy Tabernacle Tix w/o Getting It Up The Arse?
There is something about paying over $11 in fees for a ticket which costs about $29 that really pisses me off. You guessed it, I was going to buy a ticket via Ticketbastard, but pulled the plug on the deal when I saw the fees.

This is not the first time I’ve balked at the ridiculous fees charged by Ticketmaster, and it probably won’t be the last. So I ask, is there any place to buy tickets for Tabernacle shows without getting fucked?

RTFM,Part 2
Yesterday for lunch I attempted to make Easy Mac (’n Cheese) with some fake meat.

Atlanta Scavenger Hunt -

I read the directions for the mac ‘n cheese and correctly microwaved it for five minutes. However, I didn’t read the directions for the “meat” and incorrectly assumed it too would take about that long. I was left with a brick of fake meat which I attempted to save by putting in the mac ‘n cheese.

Yesterday’s lunch wound up being a sandwich (after I tossed out the miserable mac ‘n cheese).

Kids, R.T.F.M. or you’ll be eating sandwiches your whole life.

Why I Missed Last Night’s APWBWGTTD Meetup

For those who don’t know, APWBWGTTD is also known as AtlBloggers.

I Am still A Ph0t0 N00b
I was so excited as I clamped on my new lens. I was getting ready to take a picture to submit to the current Atlanta Flickr Scavenger Hunt. And then I hit some hurdles…

The first problem I encountered was that there was somebody working on the building that I was going to shoot. I should mention that I have never seen anyone near this building at 7am on my daily commute. Then to make matters worse, a truck pulled up to make a delivery (another thing I’ve not seen there) effectively blocking the building.

The second problem I encountered was user error with my new lens. I might have RTFM if I had actually received the FM with my purchase (I bought it used and no manual was supplied). When I turned the camera on all I saw was a flashing FEE in my viewfinder. Thankfully Al Gore’s Internets and Google helped my diagnose the error.

Time Is Not On My Side
T-Minus one month until birthday forty-one (July 22nd for those of you keeping score at home). I know that most of you have had this circled on your calendar for some time, but I feel the need to let the newbies know.

Actually, more importantly I now have fewer than three months before the back-to-back weekends where I have to attend weddings. I refuse, I said refuse, to buy yet another new suit for these (I’d rather spend that money on a new toy) and would love to drop ten to fifteen pounds before September. Unfortunately this also means fewer nights where beer beats exercise four to nil (oooh, look at me pretend that I am all up in the World Cup World).

Not Hot Enough For You? Cut Down More Trees
What a shock it was for me to drive through the Virginia-Highlands last night and see that almost all of the trees along Highland near George’s were cut down. How sad.

While I understand that these trees were evil Bradford Pears and it was a miracle that they had lasted this long without snapping, but did we have to cut them down when the thermometer is hitting the mid-nineties?

What The World Needs Now
Is a new Frank Sinatra so that I can get you in bed….

After eating a meal and drinking a couple of beers with my friends at George’s I popped over to the Variety Playhouse to see Cracker. Surprisingly, I think that this was the first time that I’ve seen the seminal indie rock band.

They boys did not disappoint as they scattered their hits in amongst new songs. I thought it amusing as well as David Lowry had to put on reading glasses in order to cue up his Powerbook. ROCK ON!!!

Rock On

I like this picture because this girl was doing the arm-in-the-air-finger-pointing dance all night long. Somehow I was lucky enough to catch her giving the universal hand gesture for “Rock On” in this picture.

A Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Waste; A Waist Is A Terrible Thing To Mind

I finally got around to shooting some pictures again yesterday, I was not overly enthusiastic about my results…

I'll Take James Brown To Block

I Am As Exciting As Competitive Dominoes
The other night I was in a bar and I noticed up on ESPN Dos that they were showing competitive dominoes; four players who apparently play as teams of two. My first thought was “Holy Christ, ESPN is really dredging the bottom of the barrel if they need to show dominoes on tv.” This coming from a person who fondly remembers the days when ESPN used to show Australian Rules Football and racquetball all the time. However, after five minutes I realized that not only had I been watching Competitive Dominoes for five minutes, I was getting sucked in! Two of the guys were having a heated conversation about what I’ll never know because the sound was turned off. Why do I have a feeling that the next thing ESPN will show will be Competitive Grass Growing and I will be fixated on the TV for that as well…

Look Who’s Speaking PHP?
Notice that my calendar seems a bit sparse? Notice that there have been fewer accounts of drunken stupor? Guess what? (*have a seat*) I’ve been at home reading. Not only have I been reading, I’ve been reading books that are beneficial to my brain!

Over the last week I have completed a short book about PHP programming (one that I had mysteriously lost — I rarely lose things — and had to repurchase from Barnes and Noble). This means that in the near future you’ll be able to see me put this space through incredibly stupid maneuvers, never once apologizing for when I eff it up to hell and back.

Next on the agenda is a tutorial about CSS and web design.

I Want To Love My Mac, But It’s Hard
I like my iBook I really do. However, I cannot love it.

When I get the spinning beachball of death when I try to unmount a flash card after using iPhoto and can’t figure out how to kill the process without removing the flash card and then getting the message that I should shut the program down before removing the memory, I get pissed.

When I try to play a video that I downloaded in iTunes and Quicktime doesn’t recognize the video and won’t play it (and provides nothing more than a useless user interface), I get frustrated.

These are the sort of things the are supposed to “just work” in the world of Apple.

What’s even more strange is that I am contemplating getting another Mac, this one an Intel Core Duo iMac. I guess it’s the shred of computer scientist in me that has me intrigued. I guess it’s the masochist in me that believes that these issues aren’t large enough to stop me. I guess it’s the lack of dates which allows me to afford such silliness. And I guess that a purchase such as this will mean more nights spent home, alone. I guess I should learn to love my Mac, it might be the only love I have for some time…

The Kids Call These “Call Outs”
Shoobie, where the fuck are you?

Who wants to be a geek with me? I’m looking for people to get together and drink a beer or two on a monthly basis and talk about programming / web development. It’s kinda like APWBWGTTD, but nerdier. Maybe we could schedule sessions at Twain’s when the New York Corned Beef Society of Atlanta is serving up their tasty treats? Vegetarians are of course welcome to join the fray, Twain’s offers up non-meat dishes on their regular menu as well.

To my friends with cameras (I’m looking at you Phil and Gentri), next week starts a new Flickr Atlanta Scavenger Hunt (not sure if that links works for all)…. I challenge you participate with me. Also, anyone who wants to get out and shoot a photostroll should let me know. I’ve got my equipment, I need to shoot more often.

This Is One Step Closer To The ITP You Remember

Well, Well, Well
Looky, the right-hand sidebar is a lot more useful today! I had somewhat of an epiphany last night. I realized that I didn’t have to play completely by Wordpress’ rules and I kludged together some HTML to get the sidebar closer to its former self. I’m sure that I’ll be continually have to play with this kludge, but at least I am a little more pleased with this site.

Google Releases A Calendar For The Web
And I am confused and somewhat unimpressed.

After porting over my “Walk In My Footsteps” code I found out that Google has made it possible to publish one’s calendar on the web. I was excited and quickly went to use it. After attempting to follow the directions, which didn’t work real well, I finally figured out how to create a new calendar and add an event. Unfortunately the hyperlinks I entered didn’t work properly, something that I was really hoping Google would consider.

Maybe I’ll try to figure out how to import an RSS feed from Upcoming.org instead.

Treo On Hold
Last night I decided that I was going to jump on the free Treo 650 offer that I have been provided. That was until I read that the phone would be delivered in 6-8 weeks. In this day and age I am too impatient to wait that long, and besides in August my Sprint contract is up and I free to move to any smart phone I desire. So for now I will continue to carry my Samsung A680 phone and now-internet-ignorant HP iPAQ rx3115 in order to manage my life.

Note To All: Never Eat At Hell’s Kitchen
Has anyone figured out why people still continue to try and eat at Hell’s Kitchen?

As for the show, the men are a mess; I still want to really like Heather; and I cannot wait until Sarah slips up and gets booted off the show.

CD Pick Of The Week
I feel so out of it. While I recognize most of the names listed for release today, Frank Black, Obie Trice, Keane, Nellie Furtado, and Guster, I have only heard one song from these releases. This tells me one of two things

  1. I am no longer “hip and connected”
  2. The record companies are doing a really shitty job promoting their artists

(argh, I need to update the CSS for these lists, because what I have is really not what I want)
Therefore declare today a “toss up” and my suggestion is to go to one of those stores with a listening station and take these releases out for a spin. If you have a suggestion for me as to what I should own, please drop them into the comments.

If you ever want a quick glance of the sites I’ve picked for my Websites Of The Day, you can check them out on del.icio.us, my user name is InsideThePerimeter (go figure), and they are all tagged as “blogged.”

I Am Definitely Not Rick James, Bitch!

Another late start to my day, this time thanks to a 1:00am return home from seeing Dave Chappelle at the Tabernacle last night.

Friday, Not Flyday
Friday was not a great day for me and travel agents. First, I thought that my trip to El Paso in July was all booked, only to find out that my company’s travel agent never booked the flights because they never received confirmation from my boss. I’m now scheduled to arrive much later than I thought, so my desire to do a little sightseeing in El Paso has been ended.

Later in the day I decided to update my travel itinerary for my trip to Colorado in September. When I signed up for this hashing weekend we were headed to Durango, CO, so I booked a flight to Durango via Denver. About a month ago I found out that plans to hold the event in Durango completely fell through, so the weekend was being moved to another city, Monarch. Well, Monarch is actually closer to Denver than Durango so we all decided to ditch the Denver->Durango leg of our itinerary. My first thought was “I just won’t board the second flight”, but then was immediately warned by others that this was a bad plan. It turns out that in the post-9/11 world if you try a crazy stunt like this the airlines will cancel your return trip. On Friday I called United to officially cancel my second leg of the trip. At first I was mad because in order to drop the second leg (remember, this is a trip scheduled for September) there was going to be a $100 charge! WTF? I am “returning” a seat which could be resold, and I wasn’t even asking for my money to be returned, so why screw me for $100? After arguing for a couple of minutes the agent informed me that the new itinerary was $150 cheaper than before, so even with the penalty I’d still be receiving a refund of $50. While I am happy to get some money returned, the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth.

Casting A Long Shadow
It’s not often that I direct you to another website, but today I will do so. Over on Swapatorium they have a post that really intrigues me. In this post they have a set of pictures which include a shadow of the person taking the photo. I think it’s cool because often time we forget that there is someone else on the other side of the camera, and this post reminds us of this.

Note To Self
Yesterday’s Sunday Morning Runners’ Group was hosted at Sudesh’s house, with beer and bagels supplied by Betsy, and courses of lengths five-and-a-half and eight miles mapped out by me using Gmaps Pedometer. Confused?

My courses went from Sudesh’s house in East Atlanta toward Cabbagetown and back. During the short course I reminded myself often that if I wanted to be satisfied with my running I am going to have to run more than once every other week. This conclusion seems logical but for some reason I cannot get myself out running again. I’ll keep you all posted as to the changes that occur this week due to this amazing revelation.

And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
