Positively Friday

My goal today was to write a completely positive post. I thought about ending the post right here as a joke and posting again later, but some of you might miss my true wit.

My apologies to those of you who had difficulty reading this space yesterday. It was my internet host’s problem so the situation was completely out of my hands.

Back to my normal programming…

Big Bother?
I could do without the Thursday night episodes of Big Brother. I gave up on Big Brother 1 quickly and didn’t return until Season 7 in part because I thought Julie Chen was a horribly robotic host. I still think that she is.

I will be interested to see how Boogie Mike uses this coup de tat (sp?) power. And could someone explain to me his love of Florida Gator clothing? Being a graduate of said university I’m not upset mind you, but I’ve read his bio and I see no connection between him and UF.

You Want Music?
I got your music right here pal. In my not so humble opinion your best bets for music this weekend will be in my neighborhood at The EARL.

Tonight, The Hiss are headlining but do yourself a favor and get their early enough to see Kill Gordon who will go on first. I’m sorry to say that I don’t know anything about Variac. Remember, if for some reason you don’t like their sound you can always escape to the main bar.

Tomorrow night the headliner is Elf Power so you know that you can’t go wrong. As an added bonus Margot And The Nuclear So And So’s are opening. I was really interested to hear them perform the last time they were scheduled at The EARL, but they had to cancel. Here’s to hoping history doesn’t repeat.

Like It Or Not, The Pictures Will Return Next Week
As I mentioned yesterday I’ve had a bit of photgrapher’s block lately. However, my new 50mm f/1.8 lens arrived yesterday so I’ll be taking that bad boy out for a few spins this weekend and have some new material starting next week.

When It’s Birthday Time In Atlanta
Today is Stacy’s (hashing Stacy sans ‘e’, not Turner Stacey, nor Stacy who is also a Turner Stacy and friends with Turner Stacey) birthday. To celebrate this ocassion a group of us are meeting up at Twain’s tonight.

As an aside I’ve heard that Twain’s is installing beer brewing equipment in order to become a brewpub. Very cool! I can’t wait until I can eat corned beef while drinking brewpub beer.

And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – positively glad it’s Friday
Current Music – Sirius Satellite Radio, Channel 26 playing Arctic Monkeys — “When The Sun Goes Down”
Website Of The Day – You are probably Jonesin’ for pictures since I’ve not provided any the last few days. You can go scratch that itch by visiting Picsearch.
Exercise (b)Log – none, it’s been a bad week

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

Twains is fun. I wish it was closer, I’d definitely put it in the rotation of “my bars” if it were. Play some shuffleboard for me and have a great weekend. (Been running three days in a row now – first. time. ever.)

Funny how you said you hoped Margot wouldn’t repeat . . . and they did.

I fixed my firewall, so this comment might actually work.

Yes, there is such thing as photographers block (see Aspherical from about November ’05 to May ’06). The way I’ve found to get around it is to pay attention to interesting things when you’re out and about and go back later to shoot. It also helps to have a friend who is not a photographer but is interested in art to give you some ideas once in a while (i.e. The Professor and the Grady Homes series).
