At least according to WordPress. 🙂

It’s Not Going To Rain On My Parade
No, but it sure looks like it’s going to rain on my baseball game, dammit! Months ago I decided to buy the best ticket I could at Turner Field to go boo Barry Bonds one more time. As I planned to do back with the Cardinals ticket I had a few months ago I was also going to use this opportunity to take the camera out to the ball game.

Well it looks like Mother Nature wants to piss all over my party again. The forecast for this evening is PM Thunderstorms, 40% chance. Fuckity, fuck, fuck, fuck!

I seriously think that I am going to stop buying tickets to events until the day of the event. Too many times this year things have not gone as planned and I have either not enjoyed the experience or lost the money for the ticket (see also bands cancelling and me not being able to get a refund).

Still No New Pics
Wow did I have troubles last night. Last night I had grandeous plans of drafting the World’s Greatest Fantasy football team (the “East Atlanta Deadbeat Dads”) and during the two-hour draft process catch up on some podcasts while starting a unified iPhoto library that I will keep in sync so that I never lose data. In theory this was doable. In. Theory.

My first difficulties started when I realized that it seems Apple has changed the backend file structure for iPhoto so I simply couldn’t drag in my old photos (wtf Apple?). Okay, I figured I could deal with that later and made the decision to start fresh. I hooked up my powered Belkin 7-port USB hub which I have used with other computers in the past, and which this computer seemed to like, and then tried to import photos from one of my flash memory cards. The process halted mid-way and even worse the system locked solid — a reboot (of an Mac?) was in order.

Second verse same as the first.

I then figured that the culprit might be the flash card, so I swapped in the one from this past weekend. Third verse, same as the first two.

It turns out that there is some sort of Red State / Blue State conflict between this USB hub and this Mac. Argh!!! Photo editing would have to wait until after the draft because I couldn’t afford rebooting any longer.

With the draft over and this technical issue conquered I was able to import two memory cards’ worth of pictures to iPhoto. I looked through the photos I took Saturday…. Shite! This set of photos might make a good “What not to do…” seminar, or with enough practice might show off the mighty powers of Photoshop.

So Here’s An Older Flickr Pic of ITP
This is a shot from last year’s Vegas trip on my 40th birthday.

The Striped Shirt Club

In my hand (far right) I am holding a Fat Tire Amber Ale. This is a pose that will be repeated often this week. Next week I begin back to get down to the weight I was in that picture, then I’ll work on the rest.

CD Pick Of The Week
Sorry Dylan fans, if you are expecting me to leap forward and pick “Modern Times” as my slam dunk ‘Pick of the Week’ you are mistaken. First, I must admit that I don’t pray at the Temple of Dylan. Furthermore, I was able to stream the new Dylan tunes via AOL and it was a painful experience for me.

Jessica Simpson releases “A Public Affair” today as well. Next!

I know nothing about the bands The Tyde or The Roots nor did I have anyway to listen to their cds so I’ll have to pass on them.

That leaves Pete Yorn’s release of “Nightcrawler” which was also available from AOL. Let’s just say that the sounds of Pete Yorn are not my cup of tea.

Now wait a minute, Decatur CD is saying that M. Ward’s cd (the one I picked last week) is really being released today? Well then, I’ll break tradition and pick it again.

And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – completely frustrated.
Current Music – Sirius Satellite Radio, Channel 26 playing Clap Your Hands Say Yeah — “Upon This Tidal Wave Of Young Blood”
Website Of The Day – While I am no longer a “have food delivered to the house” kinda guy I realize that it is a valuable service. GopherNow is trying to help out by listing those places in serveral cities which deliver and whether or not they are currently delivering. If anyone tries it I’d like to hear how it worked out.
Exercise (b)Log – none

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

I got tix to boo Barry Bonds too. Ours are for tomorrow, and I scammed some 755 club passes just in case it rains. Not really to sit up there, but to stay dry in case of a delay. So… Who’d you draft on your team? I’m a masochist and joined 3 leagues this year. I have an unhealthy predeliction towards any form of football. TWO DAYS UNTIL THE COLLEGE SEASON STARTS – WOOHOO!!! I hope the SEC East is decided at the Cocktail Party. Of course, I’ll be rooting for the other team. Go dawgs!

My “big” names are Larry Johnson, Eli Manning and Reggie Wayne. I have a couple of decent middle guys like Alge Crumpler and Mike Anderson. The rest is a crap shoot and speculation.

Fat Tire is mighty tasty. I haven’t had one in about 5 years. Road trip!

Sounds like a pretty decent draft to me. Crump has some of the softest hands in the business and might be more of a red zone threat without Duckett around. LJ will be a monster, and I think Eli will be solid. I’ve got Reggie Wayne on one of my teams too. Hopefully he’s still on his way up as Marvin Harrison is on his way down…
