A Little Better…

…if for no other reason than it’s now Rocktober!

Unlike the decisions made during the previous weekend which caused last week’s onslaught of mental anguish, for the most part this week’s decisions were far better causing me only physical pain.

Jammed Finger, Hyperextended Knee, Bruised Ego, Much Fun
On Saturday I joined some footy players for a practice.

First let me say that the last time I played Australian Rules Football was never. Nonetheless the people (both male and female at this practice) were kind enough not to make too much fun of those of us who possessed less skill. I consider myself to be somewhat athletic and a fast learner (see what you ladies are missing out on?) so until the time that I stepped into a divot and hyperextended my knee I was holding my own).

I have a feeling that the first game in which I participate will be quite an eye-opener, but for $20 I am willing to take the gamble.

Bring Out Yer Dead!
Did you know that there is a National Cemetery near Canton Georgia? I sure didn’t, at least not until yesterday’s Black Sheep hash ran us through the Georgia National Cemetery. Fear not, we didn’t disrespect the dead by running over their graves, hell I didn’t even see any grave markers in the vast plot of land that was the cemetery. In fact I didn’t even realize that I was in a cemetery until I was told so later on.

The cemetery was but part of the (supposedly) 5.9 mile trail that led us up and down hillsides. Except for the altitude differential I felt like I was back in Colorado running trail. It took me nearly 2.5 hours to complete the trail (as you may deduce, I did much walking yesterday).

Office Season 1: Yes; Amazing Race: No
On Saturday I managed to watch all six episodes of the first season of the American version of The Office. I thought that they were entertaining and have gone and ordered season two on dvd to watch this week. And ladies, I surprised that any of you have a question as to why you’d fall for Jim. His character is a conglomeration of the characteristics that most women desire.

By the time I got home last night I was whooped. There was no hope for me to watch last night’s Amazing Race. I’ll most likely find out who was ousted last night (I just did while trying to get the URL and, believe it or not, it’s who I would have guessed) and catch up by watching the episode tonight.

The Eyes Have It (Wrong)
On Sunday morning I was performing my version of reading the Sunday paper called surfing the Internets. I am not sure how I wound up on this blog and reading some of its comments. While moving my mouse pointer around the screen a strange URL caught my eye. Look at this quickly and then ask yourself which of the following two choices listed below it you saw first

http://www.teachershaveiteasy.com

Did you see
a) teachers have it easy
b) teachers shave it easy

I confess, I saw “b”. I have a sick and demented mind — but you probably knew that already…

btw- Teachers Have It Easy is a blog of a woman who lives in Atlanta.

And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – sore (physically), tired (mentally), empty (emotionally)
Current Music – Sirius Satellite Radio, Channel 26 playing Lambchop — “Paperback Bible”
Website Of The Day – Need to buy the strangest gift you’ve ever seen? Take a look at Things You Never Knew Existed and you will probably find something that will satisfy you needs. Of course YMMV
Exercise (b)Log – footy on Saturday, long hash on Sunday

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

Yes I picked b also…it must be the company we keep. How long did BWaNA keep you boys out last night? I’m sure he had stories to tell of his adventure yesterday, of course there was plenty of time to tell them on the drive home.

I got home around 10pm. We went to Cathy’s and had hamburgers and drinks. I was given a martini, but handed it to someone else after two sips (to me martinis taste like turpentine)

I missed Amazing Race as well, with the football games on CBS, I’ve started to just Tivo everything from 8PM until midnight. (I like Without a Trace too). Last week CBS started 60 Minutes at 7:30 instead of 7, but not this week. I hope to avoid finding out who got booted, but it won’t kill me to hear it before hand. I’ll still watch.

I figured that some others hadn’t watched yet either, that’s why I didn’t post who got ousted eventhough I accidentally found out. Watch tonight though because I will discuss it tomorrow. 🙂

I can’t see how you guys can watch the Amazing Race … I tried watching a little last week. I got through about 5-10 minutes of ex-cheerleaders, assholes, divas, etc trying to put up tents / coazing oxen around in their north face pullovers, before I started getting woozy.

It’s like any other reality show. After awhile you start rooting for, or abhoring certain people on the show. I think that’s what makes it interesting.

I didn’t get to watch the Race either, but I read the recap on CBS.com. No big loss on that team, I’d say.

And, yeah, I went with option B, too. I guess I’m as sick-minded as the rest of you. 🙂 (Or more so…)

  8. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

I just finished watching the episode. All along it looked as if they screwed up, but other teams kept screwing up more.

Welcome to the Dark Side Amity. 🙂

  9. Barb says:

I think I’ve decided I want Edwin & Godwin (or whatever their names are) this year as the team to win……. they haven’t annoyed me as much as the other teams.

  10. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

I’ve yet to develop a favorite (most people would thing that I just root for the hot women). Everytime I see Godwin, the short-haired brother, I think “Vern Yip?” 🙂
