On Chomping And Stomping
The original plans for meeting up with Phil and Stacy were to go out to take photos around the beautiful water-filled rock quarry that the hash ran past last weekend. That idea was changed when we realized how cold it was going to be on Saturday so we chose a later start and attending Cabbagetown’s Chomp And Stomp in its place. If I was in a different place in my life I would have had a smashing time at Chomp And Stomp. Regardless we had a good, if not brief time there before walking over to Milltown Arms to have a few beverages. As the day went on friends of ours started joining us and festivities were kicked up a notch.

All of the early drinking led to an early bedtime. I swear I think that I was asleep by 7:30pm on Saturday night.

Sickday Sunday
It looks like I traded a day off on Friday for a day of being sick Sunday. I am not sure how it happened because I felt great up until the time that I awoke on Sunday.

I was sick all goddamn day yesterday. I spent the entirety of the day on the couch sneezing my head off and feeling miserable.

The Damn “Paulie Do” List
With the discovery that I have a leak coming from the toilet in my “master” bedroom I now realize that there is at least one chore which needs to be completed for each of the rooms on the main floor of my house. Fuckin’ A! Admittedly some of these chores have been on the list for years because I either don’t have the skills to accomplish them (or in some cases the number of hands necessary) and I have yet to hire someone to do the chore, or they are of minor inconvenience so I’ve just put the chore off indefinitely.

My house turned fifty years old this year. I found out early in my tenure that the process of fixing one problem begets another which is why I don’t go gung ho for fixing things.

On Friday I was playing around with the mini-mannequins and my camera.

Carrying Over The Threshold

Aw Bullshit!
All weekend long my home internets were crawling because I was downloading Penn & Teller’s Bullshit. It was a huge download and took all damn weekend to complete. I never would have guessed that downloading it would have taken so long (since I was BitTorrenting it) or hampered my connection so much, but once I started the download I was committed to letting it finish. I sure hope that Season 4 was worth all of the bother it put me through this weekend.

Kentucky Finally Feels The Wrath
I admit that Dave and Mary started growing on me. I knew that they weren’t going to win this Amazing Race, not even with their Six Pack alliance. I thought that the “new twist”, the Intersection, was rather lame especially since it was during a leg where one team was marked for elimination. Oh well, I guess they need to try and throw a few curveballs in occasionally. Here is the order that I hope the remaining teams depart
– Alabama
– Rob & Kimberly
– The Male Models
– The Beauty Queens
– The Cho Bros

The “nice guy” moniker may be fake, I’m not sure since I think that part of the reason they wanted to keep the Six Pack together was because they knew that they could beat the other two teams. However, much like the hippies from last season I like these guys and would like to see them win.

And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – still a bit sick
Current Music – Sirius Satellite Radio, Channel 26 playing Sound Team — “Your Eyes Are Liars”
Website Of The Day – Tomorrow is election day, go find any information about it at Vote 411.
Exercise (b)Log – none

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

So did you catch the male model slip up at the beginning of the show when Tyler said that James needed to start doing more in this “relationship, uh, I mean race.” He’s not trying very hard to keep it in the closet.

  2. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

I *did* catch that and forgot about it when I wrote that section this morning. Thanks! 🙂

  3. Stacy says:

Grrrrr… I really gotta stop reading your blog before I watch TV!!!

I thought “I should put a spoiler warning on this” and then thought “Nah, every one I know knows better…”. Sorry.

Can you tell us more about Milltown Arms? It sounds interesting, and I’ve never been. Or heard of it.

  6. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

Milltown Arms is a relatively new bar in Cabbagetown (on Carroll Street). It’s on the north end of Carroll near Village Pizza. For some reason I always think that it’s going to be an Irish Pub but I think that it’s all in my head. The beer selection is okay but nothing to write home about. I know that they serve food, although I have only consumed beer there.

I also understand that they have trivia on one weeknight although I cannot find out more info about it.

  7. Stacy says:

The food is not bad, but again, nothing to write home about. They used to have a fuller menu but have very recently scaled down to “pub fare.” Not bad pub fare, but pub fare.

I’ve been playing trivia there Tuesday nights with friends – it’s 80s trivia then. Get there about 7:30-8pm, it’s four rounds, however long that takes (usually just an hour). Definitely fun; I’d recommend it.
