A Different Line Of Attack

Since I slept through the window of opportunity to “Get in early. Get out early.” and I can’t afford to take a day off from work today, I have decided to hang around the house and show up late. I will be squirming to leave when I normally do, but I will just have to deal with it when that time arrives.

No Meat. Low Carbs. No Problem
Last night was the monthly Third Thursday Dinner meetup. This time Stacy hosted at a friend’s house for whom she is currently housesitting. To Jill’s credit she led me to the house with no difficulty, even when I overrode her initial decision to head down Peachtree-Dunwoody Road.

The group’s culinary dynamics has made it a little difficult to prepare one dish that will satisfy all. Some people have become vegetarian, some people have sworn off carbs, but luckily we share one thing in common — a love for alcohol. Stacy did a brilliant job of preparing a (low carb) lasagne noodle roll-up filled with black beans, cheeses, and peppers which were then baked under a covering of salsa. It sounded eclectic and tasted great.

I could blame the wine on this morning’s condition, but I know that’s a lame excuse.

While walking to lunch the other day I noticed this piece of heavy machinery.

Now If Only I Could Figure Out How To Start This...

I don’t know which concerns me more, the fact that the driver needs this much help starting the machine, or that he or she will be driving it once it starts.

This Weekend Is Still Up For Grabs
With the exception of Sunday’s Black Sheep Hash I still don’t have concrete plans. Not being a “Prideful Person” this weekend’s Atlanta activities offer little for me. Tomorrow night The Rosebuds are playing The EARL, so that’s an option. And finally, this could be the weekend that I finally head to Montgomery, Alabama to take in a Biscuits game.

And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – grumpy
Current Music – NPR’s “Fresh Air” podcast from Wednesday
Website Of The DayGrumpy Llama — it just seems fitting for today.
Exercise (b)Log – none
Mode Of Transportation To Work – Unsure, but most likely my car

June Goals
1) Lose five pounds. (starting weight 200+ lbs)

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

You’re going to foresake your home state Rome Braves for a Biscuits game? The Biscuits stadium does look nice.

I need to find a spelling extension for firefox…

  3. Yup. I want to see what Montgomery is like (I’ve never been there) and they are the Montgomery Biscuits! How cool is that?

with a little pat of butter for its tongue!

And I’m so glad you enjoyed dinner! I had a very dramatic day today (involving puppy and emergency surgery and oy vey!) but I AM going to blame it on the wine today because it’s preferable. I’ll write up the story later (she’s still there, poor thing!).

I’ve been to Montgomery, but only for their 500th hash, so I could tell you alllll about their shiggy, but not much about the city. 🙂 If you end up not going and want to some other time this summer, I’d love to go with!
