Band Names And Ramblings

This time zone is currently killing me
I expected to sleep late yesterday morning, but when the alarm went off this morning and I returned to sleep for three hours I was a little weirded out.

They Deliver Even When You Request That The Don’t
Knowing that I would been gone for a week I put a “mail hold” order in with the Post Office. They ignored this. I new this before leaving for Arizona because I was smart enough to know that they probably would ignore it, so I put the mail stop request to start the day before my departure. When mail sat in my box the night before my departure I knew that it was time to try Plan B. Luckily I was able to contact my friend Laura, who lives near me, and have her scoop up any mail that was delivered.

To show my appreciation for her efforts we headed up to the Graveyard Tavern for dinner and a couple of beverages.

The initial results of my panoramic attempts are in and I am a little less than satisfied. Unfortunately Lightroom doesn’t seem to provide a way to do panoramic stitching, so I will either have to import my photos into an old version of Photoshop Elements, or find a free utility that will run on an Intel Mac.

Until then, let’s enjoy something else shall we…

This Can't Be Good.

As you can probably tell, the horse won this battle.

Band Names And Coffee Table Books
For as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to start a band. And for nearly as long I’ve wanted to produce a “coffee table” book. What do these two things have in common? A name — “The Makeshift Memorials.”

As I drove around Arizona I saw a wide array of makeshift memorials along the road sides; one of these memorials even contained a motorcycle helmet.

While I was in Arizona I heard that a young lady was killed near the corner of my street in a one-car accident. There is currently a makeshift memorial near the location. I expect to document this makeshift memorial this weekend.

What is the “law” on makeshift memorials anyway? Is it littering to construct one? I know that someone has lost a loved-one there, hence the makeshift memorial, but should Society have to be constantly reminded of this? Do we all have a “right” to mark the location of our deaths? I know that I am a soulless, crass sonnabitch for thinking about such things, but I do.

The band will never materialize. However don’t count me out on the book, even though I have just found out that someone has beaten me to registering www.makeshiftmemorials.com. Rats!
