Two Two-Day Work Weeks

“Two two-day work weeks” is how I am looking at this week. It makes working far more palatable for me somehow.

Cre 0-for-2
This weekend’s cooking attempt was a modified Shrimp Creole. The modification I planned to make was to substitute fish (tilapia) for shrimp since I have recently eaten a lot of shrimp.

Once again I wound up with an edible dish which looked nothing like the desired result. The recipe I chose to follow was a little light on directions, so I made a mistake or two along the way. As a result of my errors I veered from the path and added some white wine to the dish. The end result of the dish was more fish stew than creole. There are pictures of the outcome in my camera but I shan’t be uploading them because I think I’ve been mocked for my food photos.

For as much as I complain about my photography it’s shots like this that keep me coming back. Oh, and this shot was taken with my new Tamron f/2.8 28-75mm lens — I think its going to work out fine and I will also enjoy the $1100 I saved by buying it instead of the Nikon lens.

You Scream, I Scream, Holy Shit I Forgot I Bought Ice Cream!
It should come as no surprise to learn that I rarely buy ice cream. While I am far from lactose intolerant (thankfully!) having ice cream readily available is calorically dangerous to me.

I happened to pick up a pint of Ben & Jerry’s (Napoleon Dynamite) while grocery shopping Saturday and put it into the freezer upon returning home.

It wasn’t until last night that I remembered that I had it in the freezer. Let me tell you that there is nothing better than eating ice cream when sitting in a warm, un-airconditioned house.
