This is my first real trip to Gator Nation and no offense Paulie, but I ain't that impressed by the place (though Beth obviously loves it here). Maybe it's the crappy weather, maybe it's because I haven't ventured outside of this cursed building in the past five hours but from what I've seen between the airport and university Gainesville seems like a horrible mashup of Macon and Tampa. Perhaps my outlook will change after running tonight with the local hash kennel. The start is near a big wildlife preserve and though I love the prospect of Southern-Comfort-like shiggy I have to admit I'm a tad nervous about the prospect of running into a gator or venemous snake. As for Black Sheep, though the Receding Hareline lists me as this week's Black Sheep hare, in truth the newlywed Lil' Easy and his soon-to-be-hitched sidekick Urine Development reportedly will lay trail. I say "reportedly" because this is what my wife told me after talking with Easy at Michelle's pre-wedding party at Martha's last week. Hopefully things haven't fallen through or else I might not be able to show my face around the hash for a good long while! God this is a long post -- maybe I should start my own blog.......naah!
