Derailed

Because of my dinner plans this evening I drove my car to work (it’s a funny feeling not having the commute take over an hour). To my surprise my commute option was rewarded at the toll booth today because for some reason evil overlords Starbucks and Star 94 decided to pay the toll for commuters. Nice! I almost drove straight to Caribou Coffee to celebrate their kindness.

Tough Run, Tough Love
I was able to go and get a run in around lunch time yesterday. The only problem was that my run was terrible. I was never able to get into a rhythm and had to walk more than I cared to. I wound up cutting my route from five to four miles so that I could get back into the office in a timely fashion.

Oh well, something was better than nothing I suppose.

Phrustration At Philips
One day. One day I will go see the Islanders play and actually beat the Thrashers. Yesterday was not that day.

I went to the game with my good buddy Harold using a free ticket supplied by my good buddy Ralph.

Drinking was plentiful, so plentiful in fact that Harold and I went to George’s last night after the game (which went into overtime and shootout mind you). I was surprised to see a small pack of hashers still at George’s, most of whom knew that our arrival would mean more beer drinking and scattered out of the building shortly after our arrival. After completing a pitcher of beer George’s closed for the evening.
It’s been a while since I closed down a bar, however it was only about 11pm when they closed.

Fire truck of course! Jeez what were you thinking?

And So Starts A New Era
I am finally finished with the user manual for my new Nikon D300 and today I plan on shooting with it for the first time.

Also today I am going to commit to being a photographer at Eddie’s Attic one evening later this month. It’s a non-paying gig (comped admission and food) but I am nervous nonetheless because it will be the first time that my work means something to someone other than myself.

And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – fair
Current Music – Sirius Satellite Radio, Channel 26 playing Kings Of Leon — “Knocked Up” (no worries about that around the ITP household)
Website Of The Day5 min is a website containing videos that are fewer than five minutes long. I’ll be watching the one about cutting vegetables like a professional (yes it exists) today.
Exercise (b)Log – running w/too much walking, 4 miles
Monthly Foot Mileage – 10.3 miles
Monthly Wheel Mileage – 0 miles
Mode Of Transportation To Work – My car
Monthly Marta Rides – 4

December Goals
1) Run no fewer than 50 miles
2) Ride Marta no fewer than twenty times (ten round-trips)
3) Read at least one book

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

Better some running vs. no running Paulie! It all adds up!

**** It should be noted that I only ran/scattered after sucking down my portion of that last pitcher!

True, some is better than none.

I took care not to name names about those leaving George’s. I did enjoy the “Aw shit there’s BWanA and Paulie” looks on all faces when we walked in. 🙂

Yikes, Bike Maintanence night wasn’t any better… “I’ll just have one more” lasted until sometime after midnight last night.

However, Gretel is good to go for Dauset this weekend.

  4. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

    Dauset sounds far, far away.

  5. Martha says:

Naw, only an hour or so…

All those ‘In the Know’ say it is worth the trip.

I think that those “in the know” should know better than going that far to ride.

  7. Gentri says:

Yeah, the “awe shit” factor was definitely in place on your grand entrance! Plus your “sh*t eating” grins told us “no” wouldn’t be an answer that would be accepted in the beer department!

  8. Barb says:

that is the type of fire engine that Allan gets to ride on most days at work now.
