A Slow Start (At Least For Blogging)

If you are one of the early-bird ITP readers I apologize. I left my house sufficiently early…. to get to my 7:30am meeting, and have been in conversations with coworkers since its conclusion.

Read Along With Me
Today’s passage from Notes To Myself.

“Let’s not get personal” — Unless what you say relates to me as a person it is just words without meaning. But let’s not just get personal about each other, let’s get personal about ourselves.

To all who have helped me — Thanks.

How Did This Happen?
I am trying to make plans for a weekend in New York. This is the last year that my beloved New York Mets will be playing in Shea Stadium, the stadium of my youth, so I want to go up for one final time at the old stadium. While looking at my calendar it appears that every weekend between now and the middle of September is already booked. WTF?

I Sent More Mail Than I Have In Months
Yesterday was spent writing checks, licking affixing stamps, and sending mail to government agencies.

Paid

  • DeKalb County property taxes
  • car registration including Georgia ad valorem tax
  • City of Atlanta water/sewer payment

Still Unpaid

  • Payment of income tax penalty (note to self: call accountant)
  • City of Atlanta property taxes

Ugh.

Pipe And Track
I remind myself constantly that I do photography for me and no one else. If anyone else appreciates my work than that’s a bonus.

RealiTV Update: Hell’s Kitchen (1 of 2)
Last night my friend Betsy invited me over to watch the Hell’s Kitchen “Finale,” or so we thought. I think we made the same error that we made the last time we got together to watch the Hell’s Kitchen “Finale,” that Fox splits it into two shows.

All we saw last night was that Petrozza (whose first name I’ve long-since forgotten) won the final reward challenge, and that Christina doesn’t like the restaurant that is being created for her, even though it’s what she requested.

Each chef has assembled two-thirds of his/her team for the final finale.
Petrozza: Bobby, Ben
Christina: Corey, Louross

Matt and Jen are still unpicked.

And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…

  1. Okay, I admit that this post is the shittiest that I’ve produced in some time. I am way behind today and cannot afford to invest the time necessary to make it better.

    My apologies.

  2. Martha says:

Don’t worry about us, we always find a way to entertain ourselfs.

Sorrry I didn’t make it last night, I guess I have another shoot though. I finished up dinner just before 9 but I was feeling an early evening…I was in bed by 10. I would have been no fun.

I made my coffee this morning and it is sitting nicely on the coffee table (well that seems appropriate)… My early morning meeting is over so I guess I need to run out for a caffine hit.

  3. But I do worry! I want this space to be useful (well, somewhat useful) so that people come back daily. Therefore I hate it when I can’t put the time in to make a rewarding blog post.

  4. Steve says:

What are we? Chopped liver? We amuse ourselves at the expense of your posts all the time… we love having our way with you- and not the way you like it, either.

You can’t always be topical, hip and clever.

  5. Stacy says:

Phew! An ITP post. I was going through withdraw!

Glad to see your mood has improved….grammatically anyway! 😉

  6. I just re-read what how I described today’s photo and realized that it’s applicable to the blog in general. That was not intentional.

  7. Martha says:

I’m going to state the obvious but we’re a bunch of drunks….it took 5 trips to get all the empties into the (2) recycling bin(s) this morning.

  8. If only we were trained to put the empty bottles directly into a recycling bin… 🙂

  9. Steve says:

After the last event at Just Enough Farm, Day Spa and Dude Ranch, I used a pickup truck.

  10. And Debbie probably thought that the pickup was a frivolous purchase… 🙂

  11. Barb says:

I thougt I heard Yankee Stadium was no more after this year. Are both stadiums going to be gone? Where are they moving to?

  12. Both stadiums are closing at year’s end. Each team has a stadium under construction next to their current stadium (think Fulton County Stadium -> Turner Field).
