Thought I’d Forgotten?

Thirty years ago my family moved to Florida
Twenty-five years ago I graduated from high school in Florida
Sixteen years ago I moved out of Florida
Last night I drove nine hours to return to Florida
Four hours ago I completed thirty miles of riding in Florida
Now I am on vacation (and since I found a internet connection will be posting tomorrow)

Read Along With Me
Today’s passage from Notes To Myself.

I don’t feel “I want.” I feel “I lack.” I decide “I want.”

To all who have helped me — Thanks.

none (but I’ll be shooting today… weather permitting)

On A Somewhat Sad Note
Today is the last day for Kool Korners Grocery near Georgia Tech. It was my favorite lunch destination, for a Cuban sandwich, when I worked on 14th Street. Sadly since my company away from that location in 1999 I haven’t been able to get there often.

And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – good
Current Music – nothing
Website Of The Day – My thirty miles today were ridden on the Pinellas Trails.
Exercise (b)Log – cycling, 30 miles
Monthly Foot Mileage – 34 miles
Monthly Wheel Mileage – 30 miles
Mode Of Transportation To Work – n/a
Monthly Marta Rides – 0
Consecutive Days Of Bed-Making (Longest Streak) – 9 (110)
Books To Read To Earn Kindle – 4

July Goals
1) Run/Walk no fewer than 75 miles
2) Ride no fewer than 150 road miles
3) Ride Marta no fewer than twenty times (ten round-trips)
4) Read at least two books
5) Make my bed every day
6) Relaunch www.JalapenoBeach.com
7) Keep track of how many days I use stairs over elevators

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

we were afraid the heat finally got to you…….. good to know you aren’t lying unconscious at the house.

how long are you in Florida?

  2. I’ll be in the Florida heat a couple of days.

You know, I’ve already determined that old people haven”t changed since I moved away. The only thing that has changed is that my mother is now one of them.

Shit — that bums me out about Kool Korners; by far the best Cuban in the city. You knew it was going to happen sooner or later (hey, the guy running it is older than Castro) but still…
