Busy, Buzzy Day

My plate is full today, which for someone who desires to lose weight can either be a really good, or really bad thing.

It Didn’t Deserve An Oscar, But It Wasn’t As Bad As I Was Led To Bee-lieve
I spent the majority of last night in my basement finishing up my laundry. During the warmer months my basement is quite a blessing because it is constantly five degrees cooler than the main floor of my house.
To pass the time I decided that I would watch a movie instead of watching the Braves’ game or reading. The movie I wound up watching was Bee Movie. Bee-ing a long-time fan of Jerry Seinfeld’s work I have been more than intrigued with this movie since its release a few years ago. However, like most movies it has taken me some time to get around to watching it.

What can I say, I liked the movie. I thought it was cute and that the animation was fairly well done. Would I recommend it to others? No, not unless you are as big a fan of Seinfeld and animated movies as I am.

On Sunday afternoon I joined my friend Maigh for breakfast and camera tutoring to one her friends and his daughter.
Swinging And Panning
One of the techniques we tried to teach them was panning. This was my best effort at panning in a swinging motion to follow the little girl as she swung on the swing.

It’s One Of Those Days
I have a 1pm dental checkup today. Have I ever mentioned how much I dislike dental visits? By and large dentists and hygienists are okay, but I am always fearful of bad news when I go to the dentist’s office.

I’m expecting no cavities, although it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary if one were found. I’ve tried to be a diligent brusher, but my flossing has been a little less than stellar — so shame on me.

But Tonight Should Be Better
After work I’ll be heading to the west side to attend the monthly social meetup of Atlanta Photography Exhibit. The meetup starts at 6pm at JCT Kitchen. Come out and watch me try to limit myself to one beer and only eat a responsible amount of free appetizers.

Did You Make It To The Big Yard Sale In Decatur?

On last night’s ride, that hearth on Hightower had some great sunlight at 6:15pm. Same with the hearth in the kudzu on Azalea. A short drive after work, and you could get both shots. (though not today, it is looking like it will be rainy all day)

Decatur, 7am? Surely you jest. I was just waking up.

  2. Cool, I’ll try and shoot them next week.

C’mon Barb, I was in the Perimeter Mall area by 7, surely you could have made it to Decatur by then. 😉

Why would Decatur have a yard sale on a Thursday? Strange.

About the hearth on Hightower, you may want to get there this weekend, or the next sunny opportunity. It looks like there are some workers digging around it, not sure if they will tear it down or if they are moving it. since they have kept it this long I’m guessing the home owner will have it moved and make an outdoor sitting area centered around it.

  4. Not sure why it’s held on a Thursday. From a photo I’ve seen from this morning it doesn’t seem to deter turnout though.

If I can get there this weekend I will. If I miss out, I miss out. It won’t be the first hearth I’ve missed and probably won’t be the last. Regardless of whether or not I get to shoot it I appreciate you sending me the information.

I just want y’all to know – I have the best doctor up here in Marietta. I got in & out of his office in about 15-20 minutes. Granted, I only got my back adjusted (he’s like a chiropractor too) and a couple prescriptions, but still…… I’ve never been to any doctor that doesn’t make you wait forever in the waiting room, then forever in the exam room. I didn’t even get to open a magazine.

  6. Steve says:

Barb.. “he’s like a chiropractor too”?? If he’s working out of an old van, he’s not really a doctor either.

  7. HAHAHA! I was going to take that in a different direction, but have decided now to take the high road and leave it alone.

  8. Steve says:

We are way beyond the high road around here.

And speaking of the high road, good luck to all those BRAG riders next week. Hope the weather is good and nothing but tailwinds.

    Aren’t you guys funny…….
He is a D.O. – Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. Which means he did more training on muscles & skeletal issues that a normal MD. So,f or my normal $15 co-pay, I can get the adjustment that my insurance won’t pay for at a Chiropractor!

Steve – I like that nothing but tailwinds idea for next week, some of those hills I’m sure are gonna suck.

  10. Steve says:

As far as I’m concerned, the only good hill is a downhill, where gravity is my friend!

    Yes, we crack ourselves up.

I drove by the Decatur yard sale at approx 9am and it was raining enough that most everything was under tarps. Saw people peeking under tarps and some already loading up cars. Looked like a lot ‘o stuff.
