Time to shower and then go to Winnipeg's <a href="http://www.originalpancakehouse.ca/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">The Original Pancake House</a> so I can cash in the coupon for three free pancakes that we all won at the baseball game on Sunday. Same company? Uh oh, me thinks they better start planning a new career.

Before that they did some work, but more of hurry up & waiting while people assessed the situation. LONG DAY out in the heat. So far, no people alive or dead found, but he said they really aren't sure about the very bottom layers yet. He thinks this was a engineering problem, which means BIG LAWSUIT later on. And - if you read it, the report was correct, some Cheetah girls were out there giving htem water. In fact the baseball field and the three places I've eaten dinner are about the only things other than stores that are within walking distance -- that is considered a "safe" area. Apparently the area north of the main street named "Portage" is rough, and having driven through it a few times already I can see why. Later this morning I will be huffing it to <a href="http://www.thebay.com/en/index.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">The Bay</a> (neé Hudson's Bay Company) to buy something that will keep me from getting cold during the chillier temps; tonight's low is supposed to be 49º F). The Winnipeg flagship store is still located downtown and is only a six or seven block walk along Portage from my hotel. I return South late on Friday; way too late to attend Painful Member and hopefully not so late that I can't wake up early enough to get out and shoot photos of the Peachtree Road Race.
