I’m giving up on pressuring myself to take a photo every day, because frankly it’s not working. Life has been too hectic for me to put myself into photo opportunities so there’s no point dragging myself down.
It Was An “Event” But Only In Name
What? No Beatles music in the iTunes store yet? You gotta be fucking kidding me!
Apple‘s event yesterday really just introduced a new version of iTunes as well as showing off the changes they’ve made to the iPod Nano line. Were I in the market for a portable iPod I’d consider getting the 16GB version, but I’m not so I shan’t.
Apparently Wall Street was equally unimpressed as Apple’s stock (AAPL) dropped about $3 per share after the end of the event.
My iBook May Soon Be An onthewayoutBook
Yesterday’s update to iTunes, QuickTime, and the iPhone’s Operating System really put my old G4 iBook under stress. It took nearly two hours, two hours that were not budgeted, to complete the process of updating. Further, it is clear that Apple never tested iTunes 9 on a 12″ iBook screen because some of the tabs and features within iTunes are almost impossible to access.
It was never my intent to have the iBook as the center of my media household, that was the role of the iMac that was stolen back in July. To make matters worse, every time I consider replacing the iMac, or the Wacom graphics tablet which was also stolen, anger stirs within me.
ITP Flickr Pic
What do you mean you can’t see it? It’s the most beautiful photo ever taken! Oh well, your loss.
The Beginning Of ITP Freecycle
Tonight I’ll be meeting ITP-Reader Hank to hand off the two hard drives which used to be the centerpiece of my media household.
Stay tuned for more of my give-aways as I attempt to simplify, or at least uncomplicate my lifestyle.
Mise En Place
The term “mise en place” translates to “putting in place” and is commonly used in the cooking world. Tonight I’ll be getting my mise en place for tomorrow’s trip up to Hartwell.
Once again I’ve been tasked with creating andouille grits cakes with a shrimp sauce; of course I’ll make a portion of this vegetarian for those who care not to eat meat. If all things go to plan I’m also going to whip up, or at least get my ingredients in place, for another dish for Saturday night. What the hell, if I’m going to ruin my plumbing by cleaning up after cooking I might as well go whole hog.

I won’t lie, today’s pic of the day made me weep. It perfectly captures mans inhumanity to man
Thanks. The best thing about today’s photo is that it speaks differently to each viewer.
Just a quick word from the Tour of Missouri.. whoever said Mo. was flat didn’t see the parts we’ve seen so far. Serious rollers, fairly steep, but so far nothing really long enough to break things up. All sprint finishes, so until we get to the TT tomorrow, lots of ties.
Barb, no sign of TJ- but I haven’t been in the team areas.
Hope all is well ITP.

You can upload pictures of Nibbles, she is always a fan favorite. Everything she does is photo worthy (geez, who am I starting to sound like?).
I need to start getting ready for Hartwell as well. I plan to pack light, I always “plan” but never seem to follow through.
I really may have to pull the trigger on a new Ipod. Not sure if i need the NEW nano. I wonder what they did with all the old ones?
Older ones are discounted on Amazon and should be available somewhere on Applw’s website too.
Steve – TJ is there somewhere….. he called & asked if I’d been over to the house to check on things (which of course, I haven’t….. ooops)
I have a Nano (I guess the old one now) – I like it, though I’m not a Ipod addict, so I don’t use it all that much.
Feeling your plumbing woes with a busted water heater. I had to take a cold shower yesterday… and not because Steve’s out of town. 😉 But since the Day Spa won’t ever be featured on yesterday’s website of the day without hot water, we’re going with a tankless heater. kaching, but I hate the thought of two big tanks of hot water sitting in the second story that could break and ruin, ceilings and whatever else.
Apparently our water pressure from the street is 120 psi. Great if I want to put out a fire (which I am prone to starting them), but not so good for pipes and appliances.
I want a tankless water heater bad, but we need to wait until ours breaks.
As much as I hate to think about it, mine is probably ready to leak. A hot water heater was the first repair I had to make in the house when I discovered that mine was leaking not three months in to home ownership. In hindsight it was a harbinger of things to come.
Wow, Versus is showing the Tour of Missouri! Steve, do something controversial and get on tv.
so, I’m all caught up here at work, so I thought I’d look at the Savannah site. 543 people are already registered, and I’m sure that doesn’t count all the regos that were collected in person at Winter Park. People are getting smart about registering early – you can always sell it later. Robin might come to regret that lower starting price.
Wow, there are more people registered two years in advance than I ever want to be around at a hashing event. Looks like I’ll be saving myself the hassle of registering and selling.
