Sorry, Wrong Number

Perhaps it was all of the beer I drank yesterday. Regardless this morning’s weigh-in was not a pleasant one.

Huh, How’d That Happen?
I spent most of last night at Taco Mac. Shocking, I know. It was not supposed to be a marathon session, but being joined by two co-workers as well as one of our favorite servers after she clocked out, it became one. I did manage to avoid ordering a meat dish, so, I’ve got that going for me.

Le Tour de France Consumption: iPad Edition
After missing the early stages I decided to check into NBC’s full-access online offer for $29.95. Then I found out that they offer an iPad app with access for $14.95. Ideally I’d like to pay one price for complete access (seriously, $30 for three week’s of content everywhere seems fair to me). I’m waivering on buying the iPad app since it is getting horrible reviews. I’m trying to be legal and all, but when you deliver shit how can you expect people to not seek alternatives? What to do. What to do?

I believe that I have a kindred spirit in Merlin Mann. We’re about the same age, listened to a lot of the same music while growing up in Florida. He’s just far more advanced and successful than I am.

I his latest episode of Back To Work Mann produced a quote which I’d never hear before, but am going to star taking to heart.

It’s not how many years you’ve played guitar, it’s how many hours you’ve played guitar.

And There They Go!
Substitute “have taken photos” for “played guitar” and you understand why Monday’s Peachtree Road Race photoshoot was a bust for me.

ITP-Readers who are also hashers, scan the volunteers in the background and I think you’ll recognize one of them.

Lavanderia y Photographía
Tonight I shan’t haunt Taco Mac. Instead I’ll be doing much needed laundry and going for a bit of a photowalk while I do. I may allow myself a small dinner too. And who knows, I might get crazy tonight and do a little stretching and exercising when I get home…

Painting/drawing is never something I have had any talent for. I am amazed at Saddle Sores, as she is great at.. I think color pencil (?). We have one of Satchmo that is really incredible.

That’s 2 days in a row of pretty good pics from Peachtree. Stop being so hard on yourself.

  2. Thanks. Unfortunately the good pics end very, very soon. I took over 250 shots on Monday.

Who wouldn’t recognize the hair helmet of Doggy Style?

  4. What’s funny about the photo is that I was so focused on focusing on the wheelchair competitors that didn’t realize that Doggy was there until I was editing my photos.

  5. Steve says:

Now that Bob mentioned it, I can see that is Doggie Style. I’ll blame it on “my eyes”.

  6. No real spoilers, but one of the Radio Shack riders just crashed out and one of the Major Names has wrecked but has gotten back into the peloton. These were two separate melees within about two minutes’ time.

I’m feeling stupid, but I didn’t know BMC was considered a American team. So, the Americans are doing quite well in the Tour so far…….. and as Katrina said, 3 of 4 stages go to the Grove family (since she works for Garmin, and Kevin works for BMC)

  8. Okay, I’m silly but I just checked out http://www.proform.com to see how much they are charging for the training cycle they keep advertising. Answer: $1299, which I honestly cheaper than expected but more than I’m willing to spend on a Spinning-style bike even if it can do all of those neat things.

BREAKING NEWS: Another wreck just occurred; Another Big Name might have just crashed out. No, it appears as if he’s going to be getting back on a bike.

  9. Steve says:

CRAP!! One of my fantasy TdF riders just abandoned. Fortunately, no one of any real hope of winning.

Must be an ugly day on the road…

  10. The weather appears perfect for riding. I think narrow roads and careless riding are to blame.

Damn, I can’t wait to watch tonight!
