I’m So Tired

After doing laundry, returning home to do a little reading while drinking a beer, and later having a cup of hot tea I thought that I had gotten a good night of sleep. But I’m tired. Really tired in fact.

Work is going okay, not great, but okay, and I’ll probably have another long day at the office. I’m looking forward to the day when I can lead a semi-normal life again.

At the lavanderia I was able to watch a little of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” I (find it hard to believe but) know that we’re past Thanksgiving so Christmas tv specials are fair game, but it just seemed too soon to air one of the best known of these. I’m okay though, because I’m nothing more than an old child and have all of my favorite Christmas specials on DVD and will be able to watch them all on my schedule.

Okay, time for caffeine and coding.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

I got home at 8pm from work last night – I totally understand how you feel.

Everyone think good thoughts towards Allan today – he is bidding to go to a new station & get the heck out of Buckhead.
He may even bid for Station 13 – so if he does, maybe I’ll trek to East Atlanta someday again & see some of you ITP people again.

    Tell Allan good luck!

Paulie, you have been pushing yourself for a month, one night of sleep is not enough. You are not in your 20’s any more 🙂

  3. I’m twice the man I was in my twenties — I’m forty-six. 😉 Thankfully I’m not twice the man I wasn’t in my twenties weight-wise because then I’d currently weigh over 400 pounds.

Hope Allan gets what he wants. Hell, I’ll even stop by once in awhile and say hello if he lands in Station 13, and maybe if he lands in whatever station is on Boulevard.

fyi – Blog email seems to be clogged again. If I don’t comment on your comment (somewhat) immediately please don’t be offended.

  4. Martha says:

The station on Boulevard is #10.

I think work is going to keep getting slower until after the first of the year. CDC is use or lose for vacation time so everyone takes a lot of time off towards the end of the year. Fine by me, maybe I can do some real work instead of just running from meeting to meeting.

I know you’re busy but you must make getting enough sleep/rest a priority. Getting sick will not help your productivity.

  5. That’s the thing, I thought that I had gone to sleep early enough to get a good night’s rest. And, unlike many other nights I didn’t wake up (much) during the night. I’m starting to feel a little better now.

I just walked up six flights of stairs and was completely winded. I need to do more exercise every day.

Martha, I’ll try and drop your stuff off either Wednesday or Thursday after work.

Betsy (assuming you read comments today), Wednesday night double-shot of Top Chef: Texas; I’m cooking, don’t know what yet.

  6. Steve says:

Hang tough Paulie!! Tea has lots of caffine, so the beer might have had to work doubly hard to counteract it.

Working from lovely Birmingham today.. a brief blast of snow on the drive over, otherwise, just a bit of rain.

  7. And I scored a $139 (with tax) plane fare to Raleigh for a February visit. And at least one of the following will be true:

    – I’ll be in Raleigh during Super Bowl weekend
    – I’ve taken myself off the hook for once again hosting a Super Bowl party
    – The Jets will be in the Super Bowl
    – The Packers will be in the Super Bowl
    – The Jets will beat the Packers in the Super Bowl
    – I will be at least ten pounds lighter than I am today
    – I will drink beer

  8. Martha says:

Oh, I missed the beer comment. I know you don’t want to hear it, but booze is bad for your sleep cycle (not to mention your waist line).

One of us will be around either night.

  9. Barb says:

and – the verdict is in – Station 38 B shift. (over off Bankhead Hwy somewhere not too far from 285 on the west side).
My only problem with this is is he used to be on A shift, and now is on B shift.
I’m going to have to re-highlight all my calendars. (and, he is now working New Years Day, but hopfully he can get that fixed, I can’t be hosting Cheddarhead at my house without him)

  10. Stacy Fox says:

I’d comment more but I’m still laughing too hard at your Super Bowl outcome prediction.

  11. Stacy Fox says:

(p.s. you’re the rumor mill on atlantahash.com today)

  12. bob says:

Wow, I’ll bet Allan will get some interesting calls out of that station.

  13. Steve says:

Glad Allan can finally get some real calls under his belt. Buckheads’ loss for sure.

  14. Barb says:

Buckhead will NOT miss Allan, he doesn’t have the kiss up to rich people attitude that you need in that part of town.
He is way too excited about the idea of actually seeing & fighting a fire again.

  15. Barb says:

okay- what rumor mill on atlantahash.com? I dont’ see anything…..

  16. Bummer, I was hoping to have Allan’s expertise in case my house mysteriously burned down…

And I’m having major difficulty reaching atlantahash.com, must be a helluva rumor.

  17. bets says:

Thanks Paulie! doubleshot of top chef sounds awesome. if you don’t manage to whip up anything, i have another batch of ropa vieja in the slow cooker today. I will not transport it anywhere without it being tightly secured.

Good luck Allen! I want anyone to get the heck out of Buckhead. East Atlanta will certainly keep him busy. And if he’s bored, I’ll try to throw some cats into a tree for a reason to call him. (not throw the cats, really. place them gently. i love cats.)

  18. Stacy Fox says:

There’s a little comment on the top left of the page that says “The Rumor Mill:” and then something silly. I guess it changes because now it says something else. Ah well.
