A Comedy Of Problems

Oh boy…

Physical results are in, by and large I am “normal”, but apparently have the makings for adult-onset diabetes and am a bit vitamin deficient. Exercise and healthier eating commence tomorrow.

As if I didn’t have enough things tugging at my limited time tonight’s final German class will contain a small celebration, for which I chose to volunteer to buy some meat. Where to buy fully-cooked German meats? Probably a lot of places, but the closest substitute I could find at 7:45am this morning was at Kroger. I failed in the “German” part of the quest, but bought a nice little sausages and cheese tray with Ritz (that sounds German) crackers.

Item two on today’s agenda was laundry because I am flying to Raleigh tomorrow afternoon and currently have very little in the clean clothing category. I pulled up to the laundromat at 8:00am, its designated opening time, and waited ten minutes before leaving due to a lack of an owner’s arrival. Somehow between now and six o’clock I will have to find a two-hour block to wash and dry clothes.

Have I mentioned that I am required to have a demo app ready by tomorrow morning? Have I mentioned that the backend setup is not ready. Have I mentioned that this demo is for the President of the company, and will take place in Denver (not to be shown by yours truly)? No pressure.

I really wish I was able to find the time to get a haircut before flying to North Carolina, but there is no time in the schedule for that this week.

Geometric Bliss
Obviously I have been hanging around Colony Square a lot the past two weeks taking this German A1.1 course at the Goethe-Zentrum. While the area is mostly a ghost town at night I am always fascinated at the geometric construction in and around the compound.

Okay, time to start drinking, I mean working.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

Well, you knew you had all these things happening when you scheduled the course. You know you can pay someone to do your laundry?? An option.

I rode 25 last night and must have been feeling pretty good, as I averaged 18 for the distance. I’m feeling it this morning, but such is the price.

I believe there will be much house cleaning tonight, as we have Debbie’s friends from HS coming over for dinner tomorrow.

Steve has a good idea given your time issues, you can pay by the pound to have your clothes washed dried and folded.

Last night had a meeting with Mayor Wood of Roswell. There was a forum to talk about cycling in Roswell and how to make it better. It is nice to know that political parties are actually interested in our input. Meeting went well and there will be more. Another thing to love about Roswell.

Tonight is ramble night! 15 to 18 miles around Roswell followed by burgers and beers.

  3. Well, I just lost my comment. Add that to the list of today’s mishaps.

Bob – I wish I would have known about that forum. I was thinking when riding east along the river the other night, all the plants are nice looking, but they are growing more & more into the road, so the cars are getting delayed more by riders. There never was much of a bike lane in the first place, & it is pretty much non-existent now. That’s my least favorite place to ride anymore because of that.

We went to Tasty China with Dean last night, tried the bok choy with mushrooms (instead of the garlic sauce). It was good, but the garlic is better. We had the cutest little waitress that didn’t understand english very well at all.

Anyone watching the new TV shows this season? We haven’t watched everything yet, but Forever didn’t thrill me, Gotham was interesting. Still haven’t gotten to Scorpion. I’m sure there are more, I”m jsut filling up the DVR & we will determine what we want to watch eventually.

  5. Martha says:

Barb we watched Scorpion the other night…um, a ‘bit’ on the unbelievable side but then it is tv. Chicago Fire was a kick in the gut, I need to re-watched SHEILD…there was a lot going on and Jerry wouldn’t stop talking (for some reason that was the moment he decided he wanted to know EVERYTHING about the Avengers universe, side note, I maybe Black Widow for Halloween) I still haven’t watched Gotham but it’s on the list.

Another rehab visit today, I’ve been doing all my exercises and stretching, the knee is feeling better but it’s still on the sensitive side.

I don’t know if this will help but the German word for gorilla is Gorilla, fun fact I found out yesterday 🙂

  6. Barb says:

I love Chicgo Fire, but of course Allan doesn’t like it……

  7. Steve says:

    Paulie knew that.
