Hurry Wait, Hurry Wait

I should have thought through the two-car situation better last night. Had I done so I would have had the time to pick up the Jackmobile from Peach Auto, drive it to work, and then MARTA back to the rental in Chamblee. But I didn’t think it through and by the time I made it to Peach Auto I had already started my laundry.

So now I’m left with two options:

  1. Bug out of CocoaConf early enough one day in order to do the two-car shuffle.
  2. Ask Peach if they can hold onto the Jackmobile until I have time to pick it up on Monday.

Today’s CocoaConf day is a full-day tutorial, but since it lets out at 5:30pm and is being held down near the airport getting up to Chamblee is going to be a struggle.

Today I learn about Swift, Apple’s new language for developing iOS apps. I am excited to start learning the language not because I feel as if I stalled with Objective-C, though I admittedly have, but rather because I think it will make me more employable in the future.

Okay, time to code.

Oh, before I go my watch has been found by a coworker. Apparently I took it off during a meeting and left it in our conference room.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

Ask Robin or Debra, see if they could help you out. They both live very close to Peach Auto, maybe bring it to their house? If I was closer, I’d help.

Do you have an extra key? I always pick my car up after hours, they just lock it up.

I do have an extra key, perhaps that’s my solution.

First there was no car and now you have 2?? Crazy.

And I was going to say the rental might give you an opportunity to check out something you may be interested in buying. I think we know the Fiat is off the list.

When this week started, I was dreading a full week of work, then I realized this is my regular Friday off!! Yea for me.

I watched a youtube video as I rode last night- a Cat 5 crit from Houston. The rider was very strong and went to the front several times to see what was happening, then would drop back. Unfortunately, as the race was starting to wrap up, his poor pack position meant he was caught behind a crash and his day was basically over. I said he was strong, I didn’t say he was very smart. It was entertaining to watch as I rode.

The Chevy I am in now is not an option. 😉 May test drive a Subaru Forester, and the 6 and small SUV (whose name escapes me) from Mazda when I get some time.

  5. Barb says:

so, you were at Subaru & didn’t even test drive the Forrester? And, I told Allan wahat you said about the Crosstrek, he said it gets up to speed quick enough, you would be fine.

  6. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

I was on a tight schedule last Friday. I may retest the Crosstrek but was really disappointed with it last week.

  7. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

Oh, I forgot to mention that I got new neighbors yesterday. I have not had a chance to meet them yet.

  8. Steve says:

So the house sold, or was that the rental? Either way, that speaks well.

Are you thinking of the Mazda CRX 7? That’s kind of a mommy van- Debbie had a CRX 9 as her company car. It was very comfortable, but nothing special.

  9. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

    I think the house rented.

I think the Mazda is the CRX 5?

  10. We are on a lunch break. I called Peach Auto and they are going to leave the car out front tonight. So if you ever considered stealing the Jackmobile here is your chance. 😉

  11. Steve says:

How do you plan on driving 2 cars?

  12. 1. pick up Jackmobile from Peach Auto
    2. drive it to work
    3. Marta to Chamblee station
    4. walk to Peach Auto
    5. drive rental home

This is the way singletons live and will force met to get some exercise tonight. 🙂

The CX-5 replaced the Tribute, which was the ‘sister’ car to the Ford Escape. I think it only comes in a 2.0 and 2.5L 4-cyl engine…the CX-5 is still similar in size to the Escape, I don’t think you’re going to be happy with engine performance (I have a 3.0 6-cyl). But then I was told, just this morning, that my driving style is a little agressive, you YMMV.

Let me know if you need any help this afternoon, I’m in a meeting until 4:30 but free after…
