Or in my case practice may make enough to pass my German test Saturday afternoon because after looking at some of the sample tests last night I am certain that I shan’t be perfect.
Given The Weather That Wasn’t A Horrible Drive
Granted I worked until about 7pm and then stopped for dinner at El Pollo Norteño, so that had a lot to do with my good drive home. All in all I was home by 9:30pm.
Though I Nearly Wrecked This Morning
I usually think that I am a fairly decent driver, although this morning I completely misread a situation. Near the office I was driving down a decline and saw traffic stopped ahead of me. There are two lanes on the road in which I was driving, the other one was completely empty. Since I drive on this road daily I know that there is rarely severe traffic on it early in the morning. All of my previous data, combined with the road being wet, nearly cost me.
Fortunately I was able to slow down enough, and there was no one coming in the other lane, so I was able to shift lanes.
Was I driving too fast for the conditions? Perhaps.
For my punishment I was unable to get back into the lane in which I needed to be, and when I turned into the Taco Mac parking lot the driveway had a HUGE puddle, one that I feared driving through. Needless to say I did so very gingerly.
No Trivia, Much Studying
Holy smokes do I need to study for Saturday’s exam. I want to be over-prepared, but it may be too late for that.
I’m also trying to budget enough time to start a crockpot for tomorrow’s Thanksgiving potluck lunch in the office. Do you know that there are almost no Ukrainian dishes that can be made in a crockpot, with the exception of borscht? Poop. I was trying so see if I could impress my Ukrainian coworkers on their final lunch for this trip in our office. It’s staggering to me to think that they’ve been in our office for a month, that I’ve only done one post-work outing with them, and that they’ll return to Ukraine on Saturday. I currently have no idea what to make for tomorrow’s lunch; I’d like it to be something that’s not soupy, and perhaps vegetarian. I need to keep in mind that studying for Saturday’s exam is more important to me than impressing my coworkers tomorrow.
