Back At It

I awoke today with an attitude that I need to turn things around.

Wow, the permalink for this post says that this is the seventh time I’ve used “Back At It” as a title? Inconceivable!

Back To The Lavanderia
Coming back from Raleigh I had a lot of laundry to do, but the earliest day that I could carve out out enough time to do it was yesterday. After work I headed down Chamblee-Tucker and stopped into my favorite lavanderia, which was thankfully empty. Had I remembered to pack the blanket that I wanted to wash it would have been a perfect night of laundry.

After my clothes were done I went next door to El Pollo Norteño and ordered my usual, which was not properly delivered. I normally order the 1/4 chicken (breast and wing) but instead I was given the 1/4 chicken (two drumsticks and thighs). I thought about sending it back, but figured that they probably just ran out of breast and wings, so I chose to eat it. I will say that I prefer the breast and wing, but had no trouble finishing the plate of food provided.

Back On The Trainer
My food consumption yesterday along with the knowledge of how much bike riding I am planning to do this year convinced me to get on the trainer this morning. While not my best ninety minutes on the trainer this morning I did manage to put in ninety minutes on the trainer, in the process overcoming the discomfort caused by my genetic skin and a gimpy MCL in my left knee that pain during bike riding. I’m trying to figure out ways to mitigate these problems — strength training for the knee, dermatologist for the skin — given the fact that I plan to spend more time in the saddle this year than I ever have.

During my ninety minutes of training I watched the first two episodes of Season 3 of The Amazing Race, so I guess that I am back on the bandwagon of watching old seasons of The Amazing Race as well.

Back To Work
Okay, I’ve been back to work Since Monday, but my heart has not been in it. Trying to rectify this today.

Back To Trivia
Tonight I will be heading to Camelli’s Pizza in Little Five Points to play trivia with ITP-Reader Stacy and her harem of men. Those of us possessing free drink tokens from Arcadia, the new establishment above Camelli’s, also plan to meet at 7pm in order to use the free drink token (before Arcadia goes out of business). This will be my one allowable alcoholic beverage for the evening.

Back To Blogging
You just read my return to blogging. 🙂

Oh heeeeey! My harem of men! I like it. I never really thought about that before… I’m totally going to stop inviting any other females. 😉

I had been planning on joining you for trivia tonight, but I did not come prepared to kill time until 7. I have things to do at home- quickly moving up the list is a programmable thermostat after seeing the current GA Power bill. Ouch.

Planning for my trip to LV in balmy July is coming together. Cisco always puts on a good show, so it should be fun.

I’m impressed you can manage 90 minutes on the trainer. I suppose I could with the diversion of a TV, but don’t have that out in the man cave- where it was 43 degrees last night. I was glad to make a half hour.

  3. I could never do time on the trainer without the distraction of tv.

I could never ride 90 minutes in a trainer, even with a TV. More power to you.

We are heading to Fort Walton Beach for the weekend.
I’ve never been there, only PCB back in my early 20s, and we drank so much, I really don’t remember it at all. It’s not going to be all that warm, but we will figure out something to keep busy.

Today & Sunday are Allan’s first 2 days at the new firehouse as vacation days. Works out kind of funny.
