Notsohappy Halloween

Yesterday wasn’t one of my greatest days.

I Voted
Yep.

Because I napped hard yesterday after my exercising I didn’t cycle to the polling place as I had anticipated, but rather drove the M6. At 4:00pm I was not alone and was a bit disconcerted as the man working the parking lot told me to park in a handicap space. I am a rules follower; that is not something that I am supposed to do. Fortunately there weren’t too many people ahead of me to vote so my car wasn’t parked in the space for too long. I have done my part in the Democratic process, it now remains to be seen what the rest of the country does a week from today.

If you are reading the blog today, thank you for everything.

Lights Out
It was a lights out kinda day at the ITP Estate.

My run yesterday was a bust. I couldn’t even make it a mile before having to give up loping along. I walked some to decrease my heart rate, and the loped along again. I thought it was going to be lights out for me. I altered my route and found a better way to return home (read “with a long, gradual downhill”) and managed to run more than I expected.

I ended the day by literally turning out the lights to indicate that I had no Halloween candy. I tried to be a Halloween house the first few years I lived in East Atlanta but never had any kids, so I’ve given up.

With no access to ESPN I wasn’t able to watch last night’s American Football game so I listened to podcasts and did some German studying instead. Last night’s dinner was a big bowl of macaroni and cheese. I guess that I will start thinking about losing weight today.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

Being far off the beaten path meant no kids to worry about. We didn’t even think about buying candy, though now afterwards, picking up some bargains does appeal to me.

I too voted last night. As I’ll be attending the wrap up meeting for the Games next Tuesday, I thought I better get a mail in ballot and take care of my vote that way. We had a ballot referrendum about funding a Meriwether County Fire Department. I suppose they have some in the small towns, but there is nothing really countywide- Luthersville has a volunteer department with one small truck. No telling how long we’d actually have to wait in case of a real fire.

So now it’s November, could we please have some cooler weather? I have yet to wear a jacket to work, though I did have one on early in the morning during Games setup.

When can we get a TC evening together? Thursday or Friday?

  2. I will be OTP (again!?!) on Friday; because of my change of life this week I will be going to the camp out this weekend. The Falcons play on Thursday night (in Tampa) with a 8:25pm kickoff; does anyone have a problem meeting on Thursday because of this?

I think it’s supposed to cool slightly this weekend.

Allan works Friday- maybe Thursday for a TC evening……… let me talk to Allan & see what’s up.

We are hading to the campout this weekend, thoug hte planning emails have been a little sketchy. I need to look into what all we need to bring food wise, etc.

Sally got home from a weekend visit with her mom to find a half empty house, Marty decided some of the furniture was his. So she requested a firepit night at Franco’s for 2 reasons – to avoid the candy giving & she doesnt have a couch or a TV………
Luckily she is a good sport about it –

  4. Barb, look at the word doc attached to the email chain. Currently my revision is the latest though I think Lisa will be updating it.

    Splitting up is the worst…

  5. Paulie’s Tour de Libraries continues! Currently I am at the library at Peachtree and 16th. I didn’t even know that there was a library here, and I have lived in Atlanta for nearly 22 years. Shame on me.

  6. Stacy says:

That’s a good library! I walk there occasionally. Lots of music and DVD options. They have a continuous book sale going on too.

Come to the one at Margaret Mitchell Square sometime and I’ll join you for lunch. 🙂

  7. Will do Stacy. As it appears as if I won’t be employed by early next week why don’t we plan to meet next Monday or Tuesday, whichever works best for you.

Once again, in the neighborhood and not letting me know. Sad. Stacy, it took me a minute to realize you were’t talking about the MM house- I still think of that as the Carnegie Library, as that’s what it was went I was a semi-regular.

I could do Thursday, I don’t know about the mizzus.

  9. Steve, it was not my intention to be here today otherwise I would have contacted you. I ate lunch at Grindhouse Burger on Piedmont and was going to go to the Buckhead library when I noticed this location.

  10. steve says:

You’re forgiven. I already had lunch plans.

    You’re welcome.
