The Pain Remains

And has now spread into my lower back. This new development may have a lot to do with sleeping on the ground, aka “camping”, for two nights but regardless it still hurts to move. I will continue to try stretching it out, and hope my five-week-long hip/leg/knee pain vanish in the process.

The Rain Did Not Fall Gently On The Plain
We had a good bit of rain Friday night in Black Mountain, NC. Thankfully it held off until we were able to get out tents pitched. Hehe, I pitched a tent. Hehe. The rain was on and off on Saturday morning, finally going away for good around noon. Yesterday’s weather was so amazing that I was able to get sunburned even though I applied sunblock, SPF 50.

As always I had a great time hanging with the Raleigh Royalty, even if my aching body slowed me down and kept me from doing a few things that I would normally do.

Related: I need the pain to subside so that I can workout again. I’m getting fat and need to stem the tide.

All For Now
Even with my pain I overslept today. Therefore I must say “auf Wiedersehen” for now and hope that your weekend was as enjoyable as mine.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

  1. Purchased gas at a QT on White Horse Road (you know it if you have ever driven from Atlanta to Asheville) for $1.78/gal

Good morning from stage 2 of the men’s race. Yesterday was a really easy day but today will make up for it. 4 or 5 KOMS and 2 sprints. Sheesh.

I’m gladly off the motor. I was getting the hang of it and now I’m a judge
Not that there would have been much to do on a long crit course for the women yesterday.

Well be live on NBCSN later today so I’ll wave at you.

Driving back to Vegas, Zion & Bryce were awesome, but I’m tired & sore.
Lots of hiking when you aren’t trained is tough!
Weather could not have been more perfect, cool but sunny, so we were never dying from the heat.
Heading to the Hoover Dam then to downtown Vegas for the night.
4 Queens casino only $39 a night, and I want to hang on Fremont Street anyway.
