The Tour Is On, But I’m Blogging For You

That’s right, instead of ignoring things that need to get done by watching Le Tour de France, I’m blogging. Are you happy now? πŸ™‚

Auf Deutsch, Bitte
Yesterday afternoon I picked up my gymbag and went down to the office building’s workout room. In addition to some Nautilus-type machines the room has treadmills, ellipticals, and two fancy-pants Spin-bike setups.

While the Spin bikes are not the Peloton bikes for which I lust, they do have a video screen with computer-simulated locations. The fifty-minute long bike ride took me to New Jersey (yes), Switzerland, France, and Massachusetts (Martha’s Vineyard). I’d prefer to be able to select one of these locations for the entire duration, but I couldn’t figure out how to make that happen. One of the other options was a choice of language spoken by the computerized class leader, I chose “Deutsch” of course; I understood about half of what the guy said.

I understood about the same amount of the language spoken in my German class last night.

I’m Eating ALL The Food Today
I’ve started the day by eating an egg and cheese biscuit. Far from a healthy choice, it was what I have been craving since yesterday.

Lunch today will be at Willy’s.

Theoretically tonight I will be attending a mystery dinner in Inman Park. Why “theoretically”? Because the organizer has yet to send out an email telling us where and when we are supposed to convene tonight.

That’s all for today, I’ve some le Tour watching, I mean work, to do. See some of you at lunch.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

    Hello? Hello?
    Is this thing on?

Tried, unsuccessfully, to add to the conversation over the last 2-3 ITP’s. No joy. No included URL’s. Posts never showed up. That I could see. Retry’s gave “Duplicate, you moron…” errors.

    Hey! I see dead people…

    • In the future you can always ping me with a text or email and I will investigate. For some reason it appears a comment of yours landed in the Spam folder. My apologies.

    • From that comment:

“TodayÒ€ℒs Trivia: Today is (apparently) the 50th-anniversary of the ATM. I have never used an ATM. Ever.”

Whoa, so you’re the one! πŸ™‚

You don’t know where or when to meet tonight? Why, that’s just part of the Mystery, of course!

That is a very funny bike route. I’m assuming you took the trans-Atlantic underwater tunnel.

  3. Update from yesterday: the first beer shelf remains empty, second one has been filled with sodas. We have jumped the startup shark.

  4. Steve says:

Oddly enough, I too am watching the Tour (thanks to you!!)

No word yet from the satellite man about a possible meeting today. I’m sure Debbie is quite over having to drive somewhere to get reliable internet service. You city people need to appreciate what you have!!

I should have gotten out for a ride after work yesterday but the recliner had me in its grip. Instead, I put another coat of paint on the remaining doors. With high humidity, I’m giving them a couple days between coats.

    11:20 on the corner.

Wait- HamWithCam has never used an ATM? How is that possible?
I hate going inside the bank, or even the drive thru.

We haven’t watched much of the Tour at all this year.

Beetlecat – never heard of it.

  6. HamWithCam says:

Luddite?! Is that somewhere in…Alabama? πŸ™‚

Nope never used an ATM. See, the Coca-Cola Company is a (very, very) cash rich biz. I still “have boxes of $$” from when I worked there. They had to put it somewhere so they sent it home with employees. Still working on the first box. Thus my complete lack of ATM usage.

However, I am quite advanced in practically every other aspect of my life. Why, I’m humming along on Windows 7 (SP2), as we speak. I do run the latest version of PhotoShop (CC2017), and have an iPhone 7, Apple Watch, etc. Boo yah.

Yeah, I do still write checks. Well, a check. One per month (for my share of my Mom’s expenses). Everything else is….Bitcoins.

    Do you guys mine?

BTW, suffice to say I had some pretty clever stuff in those posts that never made it.
    Pretty clever stuff.

Ice cream celebration at “XYZ Corp”? Definitely going to be a “getting fatter” sort of day.
