Fading

Last night was a late one at the Tabernacle. The show was great, and I managed to win the parking game by getting into a lot before their fee went from $5 to $15, which confounded the attendant when I was leaving.

This weekend could be busy. Tonight I’m going to a happy hour being hosted by Trees Atlanta. Tomorrow is East Atlanta Strut. Sunday is, well, I’m not sure.

Make yours a great one.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

    Chores. More chores.

Rode last night and realized if I did the route I was planning, I’d be coming home on a busy road ar twilight. Bad plan. Just an out and back that included a mean climb. 18 total.

Games kickoff party tomorrow. Off Monday and Tuesday to celebrate Debbie’s birthday. This is as close as I’ve been able to get to having the 26th declared a national holiday- her idea.

That new Braves stadium sure is nice, Delta club seats with free food and drinks was even nicer. My opinion? Fuck that place, I may never go back. There are tons of bars and restaurants around the battery but you better bring a wheelbarrow full of money with you. And leaving? Hah! Just try to get out of there without chewing on your steering wheel! I even left a little early and it fucking sucked getting out of there. At least at Turner field you were walking and moving to get to Marta and not just sitting in your car. Trying to get out of there soured my whole experience. The only upside is I was able to go to the scout shop next door to get Travis his Webelos stuff for this year of scouting.

Gotta know the way to get out Bob……….. but yes – leaving is the hardest part I’ve been told.
We have gone north on Cobb Pkwy, which is the least traveled way for most Braves fans, so it hasn’t been bad. (been to a whole 2 games)
Everyone now arrives at different times to the Battery, and then runs out of money, so they have to just hang out & people watch.
      Where is the scout shop?

Yeah IF I ever go again I will have a better exit strategy, that was just miserable and to make things worse GDOT had the brilliant idea to close the I-285 ramp so had to re-route to Windy Hill.

The scout shop is on circle 75 parkway and Windy Ridge parkway, literally across from the stadium by the Delta parking garage.

        • Barb says:

that damn express lane is why that 285 ramp is closed. they have been closing it almost every night for a while, we got screwed there a couple times. Can’t wait for all that construction to be done.

I agree. Soulless, expensive, and ingress/egress is egregious. Been there, done that. Vaya con Dios, motherfuckers.

What does amuse me to no end is they looked at optimizing every aspect of that stadium (from an ownership standpoint) except one. There’s an odd weather pattern that causes that spot in the city to get extra rain. So an unusually high number of games have been rained out or delayed this year. I’m sure they now see that as extra opportunities to fleece whatever fans they have remaining.

  3. Business meeting in break room ran long, so I have ventured out for lunch. Taco Mac sans beer, I don’t know who I am any more!
