A Friday with no plans? I’m oddly okay with this.

Stacy, when is the brunch meetup tomorrow?

  1. Just paid my quarterly auto insurance bill. Why quarterly? Because when you are a single man (of any age), live in a high crime zip code, and have had a major claim due to getting your car stolen, you get raked over the coals by your insurance company.

when I switched to USAA, it consolidated all the cars (& camper) into 1 due date. I like it, but hate it, because its a huge amount at 1 time, twice a year.
I just paid it – but I can put it on my AmEx- more FF miles for me, and I just delay the payment about a month.
the motorcycle is separate – USAA doesn’t do motorcycles.

  2. Barb says:

I think we are going to Pine Lake hash tomorrow – its starting at Bowlero.
Falcons are playing at 4:30 – so that way we can only be aggravated watching the 2nd half of the game.

Allan is working at the Gift Mart or America’s Mart or whatever you call it all day. Not sure why they need a Fire Marshall, but for $350 he will sit there with his laptop, phone & a book & hang out all day.

    • Oh yeah, Falcons game…

    • ITP Lurker says:

There’s an annual gift show this time of year, that place is going to be slammed wall to wall with people. I used to spend a lot of time in that building, back in the day with one of first consulting clients.

      • I assume events such as the fire at a Whitesnake concert which killed people many years ago is the reason these days gatherings of large people require Fire Marshalls.

As always, I could be wrong.

    • Stacy says:

Yeah, it’s a f***ing zoo down here with the show going on. My office building is attached to America’s Mart and the people, the traffic, the big semi-trucks hauling crap and totally disobeying all traffic rules… it’s a hot mess. We, er, affectionately refer to the attendees as “Mart Tarts” and always rejoice when they leave again. They just all wander around with their roller bags and pully things, not knowing where they’re going and taking up OUR SPACE. GET OUTTA MY SPACE, MART TARTS! heehee Leaving at noon today to avoid them this afternoon even.

I just heard from Sonya – she’s setting up brunch tomorrow. We’re looking at 11am. Barb, that means you can even join us before the hash! She said she’s sending out an invite but I bet it’ll be on FB so I’ll let you know if that time changes at all. I can taste a bloody mary already….

      • Nice. I am planning to attend brunch, and will most likely follow you to Atlanta Brewing.

      • Barb says:

I love the Mart Tart nickname. I’m texting it to Allan soon, so he can just laugh as he looks at all the people.

I do have a friend from High School down there – she does some really cool pottery (and she loves the new nickname) – I told him to go say Hi when he’s wandering. And – maybe pick me up a sassy vase……. thought I think he will forgot that part.

A friend of mine actually works down here year ’round in one of the Christmas stores. Her hours lately have been insane!

When I worked downtown, I loved the big conventions. Got into a few. Always wanted to see “The Bobbin Show”. No longer in ATL as it filled GWCC, but it’s a show for the apparel industry. Would have been fascinating.

Oil change before heading to S. Ga. to hunt tomorrow. Glad I have some new cold weather gear. I’ll likely be on a 4 wheeler chasing the fox! (Sorry Stacy).

I’ve been in Atlanta long enough to remember when Cowtippers was an Ol’ Hickory House!

    Have a great weekend.
