Starting to appreciate Romaine lettuce, because I never have before.

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 212.0 pounds; first minor “setback” but not unsurprising.

Plateaus are an expected part of the terrain.

romaine? as opposed to other lettuces?

    • Yep.

I bought (hearts of) romaine when I was experimenting with the dish I was going to bring to the potluck earlier this month. With the leftover lettuce I found that I could chiffonade (cut it into to thin strips) it easily and use it as a salad, or a topping for a burger. For me it’s much easier to handle than iceberg lettuce.

we had a grilled Caesar salad down in FL – it was interesting eating a warm salad.
I very rarely buy iceberg lettuce.

chiffonade – look at you using big words.

We got 3 meals delivered from (some meal company whose name escapes me) yesterday. Pork tacos, a chicken pasta, and something else. We’ll try and report. Perhaps it will cut down on waste, as we seem to purchase lots of food with the best intentions of preparing it, and more than I like gets tossed.

Hot tub at 100F last night was a great improvement. Cranked it a bit farther for tonight.

      Hello Fresh.

    • In my efforts to lose weight I have been cooking more, which has started to raise my consciousness about my kitchen/plumbing. I have been told that I am supposed to host a party this year, you know, so I don’t end up lonely and doing something drastic. Who knows, I just might do so… the party, not the drastically negative thing.

I cannot understand the appeal of iceberg lettuce, and wedge salads in particular. But that means more for you, Stacy! 😉 I think green leaf lettuce is my favorite, but I can handle Romaine.

I’ll offer a second to the party. Deadlines for parties are remarkable leverage for getting shit done around the house. *No one* is going to judge the ITP Estate at the level that you do. They’ll all just be happy to be there, so don’t overthink it. It would be good for your soul, and another way to further your present trajectory of being more open.

    • I could easily clean the ITP Estate (and hide things out of sight to make it look tidy), it’s the lack of adequate facilities that has held up having people over. I suppose I could rent a Port-a-Potty. 😂

      • ITP Lurker says:

Paulie’s Porta-Potty Party! Say that 3 times real fast! And why not? Or loop in a neighbor and use their facilities. Or a friend with a camper. You have options.

  5. Knocking out lunch, errands, and exercise all in one shot! The weather is also awesome for walking.
