Wow, I spent a ton of money last money with not a whole lot to show for it. Might be time to reassess some of my frivolous expenses like insurance for the ITP Estate. 😂

  1. Yesterday I reminded myself how much I hate doing yard work buy mowing the lawns and building a wall of dried leaves separating my neighbor’s and my front yards.

Also, I am trying to convince myself that the tingling on the top of my right foot is not the onset of another bout with poison ivy.

Good Morning! I’m live from the Goodyear in Newnan!! After the fiasco of getting the car started yesterday, I decided I’d get the thing fixed. I already needed to come back in and get the ABS module, so the starting issue was a bonus. When I got back to the car, I finagled a remote starter using my Swiss army knife and a dog leash. When I turned the key, I saw smoke at the battery on the ground side. After tightening that connection up (it seemed tight) it started right up!! McGiver was a poser!

If they get the car done soon, I’ll go into the office, but otherwise will be remote for the day.

  3. Anyone get bad storms last night? I saw what was headed our way, but wondered if it petered out by the time it arrived in the middle of the night.

    • Barb says:

I slept thru any storm, no idea how bad it was. yard didn’t look too messed up.

    • bob says:

Storm woke me up, hard rain, strong wind. Bunch of debris down like sticks and leaves but nothing really major.

      • Steve says:

It pretty much petered out… I was expecting a lot more and we had somewhat planned on leaving the boys in the barn today. After a quick check of the radar, they are out and enjoying a quickly cooling day in the pasture.

The car is HEALED! Charged just for parts! I love these guys. They can keep my business, for sure.

        • Stacy says:

Yay! That’s great, Steve! And, oh, mad skills there with your Macgyver moves too. Impressive.

Storms mid-night in Midtown, which I realized by sleeping under an open window. Doh! 🙂 Kind of a refreshing way to be woken up though.

        • Barb says:

glad you car is fixed Steve.

  4. Oh yeah, yesterday I received an email from the City of Atlanta about their current lack of services (due to getting hacked). Therefore I can’t pay my water/sewer build online this month. I wonder how I will find out how much I owe…

    • Just got an email about my water bill. I am setup for autopay, I wonder if that will work this month. Oh bother.

      • Stacy says:

I’m always concerned about doing autopay for utility bills. Unless it’s a fixed rate (I think Ga. Power might do that), I want to see what I’m being charged before I pay it. I’m remembering a nightmare news story of folks being charged thousands of dollars erroneously on bills — like, that would have just come out of their accounts automatically, right? And then you’d have to fight to get your own money back? Ugh. No thanks!

I DO still online pay though. I’m not that much of an old fogey to send in checks or anything. 😉

      • Barb says:

        I’m with Stacy – I never autopay utilities – I’m afraid I’ll get a crazy water bill for $1000.

      • I autopay using a credit card, so I think that I could always challenge the charge.

  5. In other Paulie health news: in an idiotic move to try and lick the last bits out of a glass Pyrex dish last night I whacked the corner of the dish against one of my teeth. Thankfully didn’t chip a tooth, and hoping that no future damage becomes of this.

    • bob says:

Must have been some good leftovers 🙂

      • They were, but not worth losing a tooth (or even a part of one).

      • Barb says:

Hey – I just chipped a tooth – got it fixed (as a filling) right before my dental insurance ended last month.
keeping my fingers crossed/knocking on wood that nothing else happens before I get Cobra, or the new insurance or City of ATL insurance kicks in.

  6. Barb says:

Paulie – when you decide, let me know when you are going to get to STU – so we can make sure we have enough room for all the tents. I think we are going to have a fairly big crowd.
