Really great weekend of hash camping. Drank too much, ran too slowly, and drank too much again. Even managed to get all gear into the M6 before the rains arrived yesterday.

Last night’s cold weather combined with the possibility of leaving a dome light on in the M6 nearly killed the battery. Should probably solve this potential problem this week *before* I need to call AAA.

Try The Google for “Mazda M6 LED dome light replacement”. An LED blub (yes, I typed “blub” on purpose…) will use significantly less juice. Looks like Wal-mart has them. And I expect Amazon.

A “healthy” 12V auto battery should not be impacted by our current weather. Could be low water, terminal corrosion (as in corrosion on the battery terminals), etc. Sears will “test” for free. When in doubt, replace it, save the (marginal) N-1 battery for USB charging everything you own when the power goes out.

In other news, Jan and took in the Dogwood Festival….Sunday morning. Nice enough. Z-e-r-o crowds and we only got rained on hard on the way back to the car.

    • Huh, never thought about replacing the bulb. To be fair, if it was left on it was my user error that did so.

The battery is three-plus years (47k miles) old. I know that I should just have it replaced, I just need to make the time to get it done.

I know you tend toward having the dealer service your car. I’m on the other side of the coin, avoiding dealers except for recall repairs. Dale Ferris at http://www.asratlanta.com is 2 1/2 miles from your office (just off of Cheshire Bridge, near Piedmont). If you call ahead, the battery swap can be done while you wait. Seems like it took 30 minutes the last time I needed it done.

        • Good to know, thanks.

Battery jobs are one of the things that I don’t first think to call the dealer. With the Jackmobile I purchased one at AutoZone, and then one from AAA.

  2. Barb, did they allow tents near the campers at STU last year? Because I couldn’t ride I didn’t set one up.

    • Barb says:

oh yeah – you can set up the tents near us – since we weren’t out in the “field” where the RVs were parked, it wasn’t an issue.

      • Excellent. Do you know about what time on Thursday you will be arriving?

        • Barb says:

our plan is to get there right at about 4pm (when they open for business – not sure if they will be ok if we get there earlier) – I work until 12 – then get home & get on the road. With the camper we can’t drive quite as fast, but should only take about 1.5 hours (I hope)

A lovely Saturday where I worked on chores and STILL didn’t get out on my bike!! It was windy though, and I hate riding in the wind. The evening had us at a friends engagement party then onto Michelle Malone’s album release “party” at Brickhouse in Newnan. The band, with our friend Doug sounded really tight- they have been cruising around promoting the CD, so they should be. Her “singing” is closer to screaming at times, but the fans enjoyed it.

Sunday, I started running the actual lines to make the fence. I should have that done this week, which will save Debbie time in the mornings and keep the boys from going all walkabout.

Not a bad weekend, actually went for a road bike ride around Roswell Saturday, not enough miles, but we rode some hills, so I feel ok about STU. I’ll be slow, but oh well.

Went to a friend’s house for game night, decided to see if they were interested in Dominoes – none had ever played! It was fun, we didn’t keep score, just how many wins per person.

Sunday was a wasted day, didn’t do anything. The molds or whatever comes out when it rains in allergy season just kill me. I feel like I have a brick on my chest.

New boss should be having a baby today, so we will see how good my note taking was over my 3 weeks of training.

Allan got to fire marshal the Charlie Daniels/Alabama concert at the Fox last night, he said is was great for people watching.

    • I stumbled upon the Atlanta United game on my Fox Soccer Pass app yesterday and kept looking to see if he was working the game again.

I wondered why I didn’t see him at the game last night.

The show Saturday night was pretty good for people watching- one very drunk guy was dancing with everybody. His GF was trying to get him to leave and having little success. Finally a bouncer came to have a chat, they exchanged a few words, a few hugs and some dance steps. He stayed a while longer!! At least he was a happy drunk.

      • Hash campout was too. On Friday night one guy was so drunk he fell to the ground a few times while trying to sit in a chair. LOL! I think his hash name was “Wee Little Bit”. 😳 I still blame the Shooting Star hash, but at least it reminded me to avoid Evan Williams at STU.

We will see how STU goes for me, I took my road bike off the hook last night and realized it still has BRAG dirt on it 🙂 I guess I hung it up after BRAG and just forgot about it. I have some work to do to make sure it is ready. At least the weather looks promising for now. Looking forward to a fun weekend!
