My body is proving to be a challenge this week. Today’s pain is different, and not as discomforting as yesterday’s, but is still making itself known.

  1. The sea salt grinder bottle has nutritional information — spoiler alert – Mediterranean sea salt contains nothing more than sodium and chlorine. The bottle also has a “Best Before” date; do salt crystals ever really lose their saltiness?

    • Stacy says:

I don’t think they lose saltiness. I think they just get more clumpy? I use salt like it’s going out of style, so I never have this problem. Thank heavens my annual physicals have never called me out to cut down on sodium.

In semi-related news, what’s up with all the PINK salt these days? I kind of want to get some just because, but then I’m all: oh no. Is this just another one of those hipster things? Gourmet salts!

  2. Warning: please don’t expect much in the way of interaction from me today. For months I have been vexed by technical problems at work that, if I don’t find a way through soon, will have me considering quitting “XYZ Corp” and walking away from everything.

Our stupid sump pump was acting up yesterday, Allan hopes it is just because he didn’t install it perfectly. (its down in the crawl space, so its hard to get to it)
We will know with the next load of laundry………

I hope tonight we can get Allan’s mom to go to dinner for a late Mother’s Day thing. TJ is out of town at Tour of CA, so she was all alone Sunday. She probably did enjoy that. I had invited her to Iowa with us, can you believe she didn’t take us up on that??? hahahaha

Finally out of an all morning (fairly boring) meeting. “We’re doing good work, rah rah!!”

I’m a definite maybe for the Monday hash. I got a mile and a half in last night before the calf muscle said “no more”. I went through a long recovery period when this happened the last time- I was still trying to run on Wednesdays. We’ll see.

I made a Home Chef meal last night- pork tacos. I’d give it a 6.5… not a lot to it, but some good flavor.

The mouse continues to taunt us. I got home yesterday and the trap had been sprung, moved about a foot or more and relieved of all the peanut butter. I spotted him at least once, for sure last night and the dogs were not interested. Worthless.

Brownie doesn’t like mice? only bigger animals? (& buckets?)
what about the cat (or cats)?

      • Steve says:

Brown got the first mouse and then retired. He’s been watching, but Lola has taken the lead. Paul (the cat) lives in the man cave and hasn’t shown any interest in the mice out there.

Anyone try the Bird electric scooters yet? I saw a dude on the Beltline riding one shouting “WOO-HOO, WOO-HOO”. Either he doesn’t get out much or else they’re more fun than they look. I’ve definitely seen multiple people pushing them on the Beltline, which makes me think the battery life might be suspect.
