I made it to my annual GA Tech baseball game last night.
Money Out The Window
Weeeeell, I made it to the two outs of the first inning which were played prior to the game being stopped due to lightning being detected “within eight miles” of the city and the tarp then being stretched upon the field.

The person at the gate didn’t know the rain check policy, so I decided to swallow the $20 I spent on the two tickets I purchased.

  1. I have a physical at 10am. I keep having to remind myself that I am not allowed to drink or eat before then.

  2. Turns out the game was played last night after a two hour delay, ending past midnight. I’m glad we left even though it meant that I spent money for virtually nothing.

Condo was at the Braves game, it got rained out I read, I’m sure he wasted more money than you.

Head Nurse is bugging me to hash Saturday – trail is at Serenbe. I wish it wasn’t the same day as Prom, do we want to drive an hour or so south for the hash, then hour back home, get cleaned up & go back into town for the Prom?
Maybe we should go road ride earlier, and then stop at the start of the hash?
    Such decisions………..

    • Stacy says:

I actually considered the hash on Saturday too but I have a lunch at noon tomorrow and there’s just no way I’ll be able to make it there in time. Her pictures from rec’ying were beautiful. If it weren’t this weekend, I totally would.

      • Barb says:

You have royal wedding party & then lunch at noon? that’s a full day early!

        • Stacy says:

Don’t I know it! Should be a fun day. By time y’all are enjoying yourselves at prom, I’ll be fast asleep. 😉

I don’t expect the royal wedding party to be a big drink-on thing, but at least the lunch is right at a MARTA stop should I accidentally have too much champagne.

I was looking for some old Prom photos last night, it is truly amazing what a difference digital cameras have made. I have boxes of old photos (lots of hashers I can’t remember a lot of their names, but did manage to remember some). Most of the pictures are TERRIBLE, because we had to just take pictures & see the results after we paid to get them developed. I really should put them into albums, but that would be crazy talk.

    • Stacy says:

You should you should you should! 🙂 The one thing I love about the “before digital” age is that I actually made scrapbooks too. I have 4 big scrapbooks of adventures in traveling… mostly late 1990s, early 2000s. It’s so much fun to look back at them now! After that, I got to making scrapbooks for people as gifts: wedding shower, 50th anniversary, baby shower, etc… and then eventually just stopped. I really need to start up again but it just seems such a hassle to print out photos. Which is CRAZY DUMB because it’s even easier these days: just plug your phone into a photo box kiosk and boom. Done.

I need to be unemployed & really bored to go thru all those photos, and get them organized. BUT – they are hilarious.

And – one of my favorite hashers was in a picture from a 90s Prom (I loved her naming, and she was cool too) Geezer Pleezer! Did she date Hired Snatch, or just a friend of his? Either way, back when namings were creative & not just dirty.

I have started and flamed out on so many scrapbooks that I no longer choose to punish myself in that way. Thus I have utmost respect for those that can pull that off. 🙂

Plus, for me, staying in the present moment, as opposed to going back in time, tends to be exactly what I need, so there’s that. I think a circuit breaker in my brain flips off every time I try to preserve my past. Hmmm….

I did find a good old family photo to embarrass my sister with when I was home – I’ll have to put it on FB one day, when I want to annoy her. I think the old photos are hilarious, because we didn’t know any better, we thought we looked good. I mean come on, all of our lovely hairdos are the best!

        • Stacy says:

I’m determined to start up again…sometime. I did learn my lesson never to do one as a wedding album as a gift again. It’s fabulous if the couple stays together (my sister, for example), but sucks if they don’t (my little sister in my sorority). Because that’s a lot of work to probably just be thrown away.

What DO people do with old wedding albums after a divorce anyway?

  6. At the doc’s office. They have taken me early; I have already peed in a cup. TMI? 😂

  7. steve says:

Was a genius last night and went out on a road ride just as it started to sprinkle I got five miles out when it really started to rain hard. The return was fairly soaking and I managed to get a whopping 10 miles in.

The hash at Serene sounds fun, but since I’m a bit crip, I’m saving myself for Monday.

Steve 2, mice 0. Bought more traps.

  8. Physical done. Never been impressed with the physicals my doctor’s office provides, but it has been three years so I needed to have something done.

I explained my 5/7ths vegetarian diet to my doctor and she was slightly impressed, and made sure that I wasn’t becoming a “carbetarian” a term I understand but have never heard.

Doctor was less impressed with the amount of alcohol I consume. 😂 Why lie, right?

    • Was going to treat myself to brunch today, but then couldn’t think of where to go. I am at the office eating a bag of chips, perhaps I will think of a worthy lunch place to visit.

      • Barb says:

the girls I work with decided we should have a team lunch – we are going to Zoe’s Kitchen.

  9. steve says:

“Less impressed with the amount of alcohol you drink”- but still manage to lose weight. Go figure.
