Glad I mowed the lawns yesterday.

Fun, but late, Okkervil River show at Aisle 5 last night.

Waiting in the rain for the Waschsalon to open.

  1. Now in Waschsalon, hoping my blistered foot heals quickly so that it won’t be bothersome while hashing (hopefully not in the rain) this weekend.

  2. Have just eaten a biscuit with Cheese Whiz for breakfast — because I’m classy like that.

This rain ain’t no fun. I went through a couple of big downpours on the way home yesterday and one good one on the way in this morning.

Voted yesterday, so I did what I could. Both my candidates made the cut on the Demo side, though I think they might be a long shot in the general- who knows? The Repubs aren’t really bringing their A game.

I hope we have a break in the rain this afternoon as if I don’t get one soon, the lawn will be cut with the bush hog instead of the mower.

Where is Aisle 5? I know I could look it up, but I’m lazy.

Sod got done before the rain – so we are quite happy with this rain happening right now. No pictures of the finished product – because – it was raining!!!
I didn’t have to help, so yesterday was a good day.
Allan took today off, thinking it might not be all finished, so he is taking today to run errands & get some shit done. Plus, he’s annoyed with the AFD, they announced more assignment changes, and he’s still in inspections. (a Capt. is talking that they are getting out……. soon……. but when???? Hence, he is annoyed, don’t get their hopes up)

    • Steve says:

Has it already been a year in Inspections? Where would he like to go next?

      • Barb says:

I don’t think its been a year, but its getting closer to that.
He wants to go back to a station – be a fireman again.
If they wouldn’t talk about them getting out, it wouldn’t be so bad. But – they keep saying the field is so short handed, they need the trained guys back out there, then it doesn’t seem to happen. Hence – he’s very annoyed.

    • Laundry done, now at the office.

Aisle 5 is in Little Five Points, next door to the bike shop. It was pouring when I got there, so I paid $7 to park. I still got a little wet running from the car to the venue.

This is a big part of why I read this space, to keep up with what’s happening ITP. I somehow haven’t heard of Aisle 5 until just now.

  5. Barb says:

And- the little perk to Allan’s job, he gets to go see Hamilton twice next week.
Once as the rover, just making sure no one is blocking fire exits, that crap.
The other time it is something backstage. I think that will be cool, see how a Broadway play works behind the scenes.

  6. Trying to heed some of my doctor’s advice, so I am eating a pear. This pair has all the non-flavor of a red delicious apple. 😒

  7. If you ever wanted to know the worst shoes to wear when you have a recovering blister on the bottom of your foot, near the ball of your foot, the answer is Chucks. OWIE! 😲

    • Barb says:

Blisters suck. Go get some Moleskin if you have to walk much. It has good adhesive, so it will suck to get the moleskin off later, but it will help in the mean time while walking.
Its by all the other foot care stuff at CVS or whatever store you like.

Stellar rainy day happening over here for me! Working remotely waiting on a new mattress to arrive (latest update says 11:11 – we’ll see). Perfect day for not going out…and for spending the rest of the day in bed after it gets here. 😉 #RainRainDontGoAway

    • Barb says:

wait- you got a new mattress already? what did you get?????

      • Stacy says:

The one with the cute little sheep in the commercials! Ha! Am I a sucker for marketing or what? 😉 But yeah, it was “pre-Memorial Day Memorial Day pricing” — you know, one of the big 3 holy weekends for mattress and furniture shopping — so the price was super right and they had free delivery/haul away. Though for the record, I’m still waiting on that part. They’re still within their window for another 30 minutes though. It has that cooling technology stuff that’s supposed to whisk body heat away from you when you sleep? We’ll see. I can’t wait to go to bed tonight.

  9. Today is a meat day. Looks like the rain may have subsided, I wonder to where I should waddle for lunch.

If you answered “Cafe Agora for a gyro and fries” give yourself ten points. If you answered “Taco Mac for chicken nachos” give yourself five points, because that’s where I was initially headed.
