Because I was able to get home and mow the yards prior to it raining again last night I am thankful to work for a company that affords work flexibility. I continue to receive job “offers” and even if I were qualified would feel hard-pressed to leave the setup I have now.

Always talk to folks making job offers… it will at least keep you from becoming “too specialized” in one area and let you know what the market is looking for.

I rode 23 last night and I really feel it today. Average speed just above 13!! Granted, a third was on gravel, but damn. Average HR 140, so I was working. An I’m just looking at my Endomondo for last night and it said I hit 106 MPH!!! I lurv technology. Laying in the not-very-hot tub felt great afterwards, so there is that.

I went to dinner with some former co-workers – Allan cut our grass & the inlaws.
I got the better of the deal.

That’s nice to hear, Jeff. 😉

and – it didn’t rail at all again in Marietta yesterday.

I head to Iowa tomorrow morning- quick weekend trip to see the parents and go to my 35th class reunion. Luckily my classmates have learned to just make it a social thing, no sit down meals, just hang out & have a few drinks at a bar.
I want my parents to get a new car – theirs is OLD and I’d like then to have all the new safety features, so since we are trying to decide what kind of car to get, this is my excuse to drag them out to a dealership for a few minutes.

Trying to decide to not overpack, so maybe I can bring home some of the bacon cheddar skinless brats they sell at HyVee. I think that will be my souvenir. LOL

  5. It’s been a while since I have whined about Swift. Trying to get the app I work on to run on iOS 12 Beta, and it’s crashing in some Swift code written by my predecessor over two years ago. Ugh.

I think my inability to learn Swift mirrors my German – it’s not imperative that I write in Swift because my app is mostly in my “native” language Objective-C, so it doesn’t stick in my brain.

Well, this is good. Unlike Dallas where the yellow Ofo bikes were recycled for scrap metal, the Ofo bikes in Atlanta are being repurposed by charities. https://www.atlantadowntown.com/article/ofos-orphaned-yellow-bikes-given-second-chance

There may be a market in Manhattan for monthly bike subscriptions (Citi Bikes), but that’s not the case here (or in most of the rest of the country). I think their downfall was not offering a per-ride option the way that the Relay bikes offer.
