Started today out by picking up a cup of coffee from Joe’s on my drive to work.

Tonight I will be seeing a play at Theatrical Outfit.

Good times.

Should have exercised last night, but Debbie is a bad influence. We visited Murphy over at Bear Creek, then went out to dinner. Our usual good service at Johnnies was absent last night. Ordering was fine and delivery was fine, but wrapping things up took forever. I finally got up and after a quick scan of the restaurant, asked another waitress to go find ours. No apology, nothing. And I bet it was every bit of 20 minutes. It’s not like they were busy… harrumph!

    What is the play tonight?

    • The play is called ”The Royale”; it’s about a boxer in the early 1900s who dreams about being the first black heavyweight champion.

I think that I may be cosmopolitan tonight and take the train downtown, unless there is light traffic. Paying for parking during the week costs about the same as taking the train both ways.

    good morning –
I took a mental health day yesterday, went to Ellijay with Joanna (& Sharon was in town from FL) and went hiking, picked up a sandwich & went to a winery for lunch. then stopped at the MountainView Farm Store & bought some way too expensive beef, but it will be so good when we cook it.
Back here at work – this place just drains me this time of year.

That sounds like a lovely day! I’ve been to north Georgia only twice that I can instantly recall—a winery up north for the eclipse (Tiger Mountain) and to Amicalola Falls. There are sometimes winery tours offered by my Urban Explorers group, but they’ve been cost prohibitive for me.

    • Good on ya for taking a mental health day. I love doing that.

Barb, saw your post on the BS page. While I can’t answer your question, the last BS Surly said it would likely be a start in the southeast area. He and Burnt Rubber are the hares. And costumes for circle! 🙌🏻

I worked out with a personal trainer for the first time in my life today. It went well, she’s a good fit for me, 10 minute walk from my house to get there. The initiative to reclaim my body continues.

Dinner at Grindhouse on Memorial last night. After several months they still don’t have their service kinks worked out, food landed on the table before the pitcher of beer. Had to go to the bar and chase it down. “Oh, we got overwhelmed with milkshakes…”

    • Bonnie says:

Good for you! 🙌🏻 I think that would be great to find out how to properly work out, work toward your goals and not waste effort.

I like Grindhouse alright, I’ve been to the Memorial location 2-3 times and once the service was reeeaaaally slow and once they gave me the wrong order or forgot mine—I can’t remember which. I’ll go back,

      • ITP Lurker says:

I liked them back in their early Sweet Auburn Curb Market iteration. Which may or may not still be there. But basically when there was one Grindhouse, instead of a franchise. Harumph! 😉

There are *way* too many options in Atlanta for me to abide with questionable food or service.

        • Bonnie says:

I would say the main reason I will go back is because I can walk/bike to it. I wouldn’t necessarily make the effort if I had to commute across town, etc. 🙂

          • ITP Lurker says:

            You’re just way more of a forgiving person than I am, Bonnie…there’s definitely that. 😉 😉 😉

    • 👍🏻

I last used the services of a personal trainer when I was in my early forties. At that time I determined that I no longer had the determination to keep working out with a personal trainer.
