Evil wins again.

After a fun weekend, with the exception of last night’s result, I am returning home where I want to (once again) start to figure out how to improve some parts of my life.

I’ll pop in during my drive home around lunch time.

How was your weekend / Super Bowl experience?

Watched half of the game, because my kids wanted to, and wanted my time back afterwards. Apparently celery juice is the new health fad, the half-time show and game felt like drinking a gallon of celery juice.

Glorious day outside though before that. Among other activities I walked the “new” Beltline from Boulevard to Hank Aaron, and had lunch on Georgia Avenue across from the Georgia State Stadium. The Little Tart has opened up there. Space turned out great. I was so happy to spend money on something other than parking for the first time ever on Georgia Avenue outside of the stadium. I’m thrilled to see that wasteland coming to life.

In the no good deed goes unpunished department, my friend and I dropped an old sleeping bag off with a homeless guy standing outside the Grant Park bathroom building. A second homeless guy came out, followed us, and trolled us for a couple minutes for giving the sleeping bag to the wrong guy, because the guy we gave it to gets SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS A MONTH for disability and squanders it on crack. We finally shook loose of the troll.

Rode my real bike on the Beltline, which was surprisingly navigable on a sunny Sunday, and after initially trying an Uber e-bike that wouldn’t unlock, later found one that worked and rode it for an hour. E-bikes are FUN. That was my first experience.

I live on the (future) Beltline between the Southside trail and the “real” Beltline. Glad to be using the Southside Trail (although perhaps still illegally?) and I hope the phase II construction on the real Beltline finishes up soon. I requested information from the Beltline on the update meetings held last week regarding both trails that I had to miss—hopefully they will send me some details on the timelines.

I hashed this weekend. Yeah that’s it. After yesterday’s hash I watched the Super Bowl at Slim Prickens’ house. We ate vegetarian buffalo wings and tater tots, yum! TBD if tonight’s hash will make four in a row… Man I’m tired…

      • ITP Lurker says:

The city is going to make the “future” Southside stretch between the Eastside and Westside a provisional hiking trail soon, and as you know it’s already been co-opted as such. I think it’ll be years before we see concrete on that stretch, but at least they’re finally acknowledging the popularity of the trail and public desire to use the space with an interim plan.

Regarding legality, there are signs on the Beltline beyond Ansley Mall that explicitly say keep out. I don’t think they’ll bother with the southside portion.

    Greetings from Iowa.
Yesterday was super foggy, but we still went out driving around. I had my parents show me where different senior living facilities are. I told them it’s a good idea to just know what’s out there, in case some day they may need to move. My dad says…. they are all too expensive. I’m like…. of course they are.
Right now I’m sitting outside the bank where they count church money every Monday. Dropped their car off at the shop, they will not get a new car, can’t convince them something newer would’ve a good thing. Guy at shop said it’s ok for around town, but don’t road trip. They won’t do that anyway, so I guess we arent car shopping after all.
Someday maybe, but for now, Dad is too stubborn.

  3. Total Wine stop complete. Having trouble charging phone. Poop!

I was planning to hash tonight but since Glory Mole went hog wild this weekend I may be going solo…

Good Morning from Miami!! Seems like we are all spread to the four winds.

Remind me not to travel after a Super Bowl when you’re in the host city. I will say it moved quite quickly, but still more than I wanted to stand around.

A good CX ride Saturday followed Sunday by a good motorcycle ride to meet another official and get my new radio programmed to the race frequencies. I thought he would just provide GA, but he happened to have the entire east coast as well as USAC. He also programmed in the freqs for the fox hunt, but when I got home, only one worked.

That was certainly the most boring stupor bowl ever. And the wrong team won, and the wrong teams were playing. Missed the National Anthem and flyover, though I did like Allan’s picture.

I’m impressed Allan got the picture, I told him he better, but didn’t know if he could actually make it happen.

  5. Hello from Greer SC where I have stopped at QT to buy cheap gas and fast food pizza. I am also now experiencing pain on the opposite side of my mouth that I will attempt to ignore to see if it goes away on its own. Phooey!

    • Back to the road. Next stop home.

      • Bonnie says:

        It’s still standing 🙌🏻👏🏻🤜🏻🤛🏻.

      • Barb says:

My tooth is feeling better, I think I’m going to cancel the root canal on Thursday. He said it was an infection, and I’m sure it will happen again, but I think I’ll wait until it hurts again before doing anything.

        • Bonnie says:

Barb, I put off a RC and now I have an implant. Of course I don’t know your situation, but just sayin’…

      • Made it back to the ITP Estate. Of course it to me longer to drive here than estimated because I putter along.

Resting for a minute, odd since I have done little more than sit since 8:15am, before looking at the driving situation to tonight’s Moonlight hash.

Not that it matters because you all won’t read this this late in the day, bit GOOOOOO PATS! GREATEST OF ALL TIME!
