As if having to fork over a additional $4k today wasn’t bad enough, my pants are tight for the first time in a year. This, after a weekend of riding 40 miles on Saturday, and doing a hard hash yesterday. I’m getting fatter, not thinner. Poop.

I’m starting to wonder if the M6 can predict the weather. The TPMS warning came on, again, yesterday while driving to the hash and this morning it is chilly outside. Anyone know of a Subaru dealer looking for a weather-predicting trade-in? 🙄

Good weekend over all – got all the upper cabinets out, the pantry & some of the lower cabinets out – plus filled in the window space above the sink.
Made sloppy joes for dinner Saturday night with the can of Manwich I had bought for the food party theme of “food from your childhood” that either didn’t happen (or if it did, I missed it)
Tonight I get to prime the new wood that is the wall in the mud room – we need to move the fridge out there for the duration – and figured a coat of paint 1st wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Got more tomatoes from a friend to plant (she starts them from seed)- gotta find time for that too.

Good racing Saturday, but had my hands full keeping everything running smoothly. When the results guy is challenged by having lapped riders in a race, it takes a while to get results out. Only one crash worthy of paperwork, and I was told it looked good on the internet.

Wisely, the road race yesterday was cancelled- the promoter had pulled the plug first thing Saturday, so told us and I, in turn got to tell the racers at the line. Very little pushback as everyone was aware of what was coming.

My chief judge said she flew home in the storm all the way to NJ, which made for some unpleasant seat mates- you can guess why.

Today I learned that Taco Mac is called that because 40 years ago this month when they opened they took over the space of a former Mexican restaurant and didn’t have the money to buy a new sign.

    • That is correct.

Why they tried to rebrand as T.Mac is still a mystery to me.

      • ITP Lurker says:

Probably trying to eliminate the Taco portion of their name, plus part of the movement to shorten everything as much as possible. We’re all going to be back to caveman grunts eventually if the trend continues.

28 stores, 2200 employees, they’re big enough now for goofy things like that to make sense periodically.

Well, I was going to say it was pretty quiet out here all day, but then you 2 started. I did not know that about Taco Mac. Years ago, the old Rhodes Furniture in N. DeKalb was taken over by a guy who was too cheap to put up a new sign so he just anagrammed Rhodes into something else.

I’m still hear waiting on a problem to be fixed. I was going to say a fire to be put out, but that seemed a little sad today.
