Two out of three ain’t bad, right?

Friday night was good, had a beer at Yacht Club before seeing “Waffle Palace: Christmas”.

Saturday turned out to be a mildly productive day during which I was able to spend 50 minutes on the trainer without hurting my ankle. So that wasn’t bad.

Then there was yesterday…
To begin, the Black Sheep Hash was somewhere near a place called “Dallas”; it felt as if I had driven to Texas by the time I arrived. Three hashers I respect greatly laid the trail, and put a hard-to-find check, after a countback twenty, at the trail’s start. I got separated from the pack while trying to solve the check, in the middle of a stand of briars, and was retreating to the start when Glory Mole texted me her GPS coordinates. It still took me over fifteen minutes, and massive amounts of cursing, to get to her. We “finished” the trail, and by “finished” I mean “were picked up after spending two hours to complete the ‘easy’ first two-thirds of the trail”. Hey, we weren’t alone though as there were three first-timers behind us. It’s taken me awhile, but I have come to the conclusion that Black Sheep is a runners’ hash, meaning that if you don’t plan on running the majority of trail you might not want to do it because they are too long and hard to walk.

To cap off the day, Werder Bremen lost 0-1, at home, to the team with worst record in the Bundesliga. If Werder Bremen doesn’t get relegated at the end of this season I will be surprised.
I’m shocked the Jets managed to beat the Dolphins by a point yesterday. So, at least I’ve got that going for me…

  1. The plan is to attend tonight’s Moonlite Hash. It starts at Amsterdam Cafe near Piedmont Park, and I think that I packed the proper clothes. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Running when you hash? Unheard of.

I managed 18 or so in the wind yesterday. I did one of my regular routes backwards, as that would have me ending with a tailwind and that worked out well. What didn’t work out was the amount of clothing I was wearing. Had I had something over my legs, I would have stayed out longer, but I was getting cold quickly.

Saturday I was a farmer! At least I finally got one of the seeders working (yes, we borrowed another non-working one). The first units’ PTO shaft finally freed up with the help of 2 trees, 2 logging chains and a come along! Now hopefully I got the seed down and it gets to germinate before it gets too cold.

    • Yes it was quite windy yesterday. This probably saved my arms from briars because I wound up putting on arm covers under my long-sleeved shirt in order to combat the wind.

I’m thinking I’m glad we missed Black Sheep, as I can’t run.
I will only do trail if I know I’ve got people to walk with.

And – I scored some Waffle House arm sleeves a couple weeks ago, I asked our waitress if they sold them, and she said she’s see if any were in the back. $20cash (I hope went into her pocket) and I got a set!

it was s good fun filled weekend –
Friday night was bike wheel fixing & Tasty China after – and yes – it was tasty.
No double cooked pork for some reason, we tried double cooked chicken, it wasn’t bad at all.
Saturday we did some running around, and then the Hyox Christmas party – everyone dressed up – theme was “classic tv characters”. We went as the Howells from Gilligan’s Island – best costume was the couple that came as Cheech & Chong. There were 3 sets of Fred & Wilma, 2 Peg & Al Bundy’s, Gilligan & Mary Ann, Homer & Marge, Alice from the Brady Bunch, Fat Albert, Marcus Welby, and after that I’m not sure.
Sunday we weren’t super hungover – that was good for a change, got some yard work done (burnt our huge pile of branches & leaves) and I finally ordered our Christmas cards. Had massages (my back still needs another massage) & then friends over for turkey soup, Thanksgiving leftovers are almost all finally gone.

    • While I was washing dishes the other day I was wondering if you were going to the Hyox party this year. For some reason I imagined the theme as “Roman”, complete with a real chariot. 🤷🏻‍♂️
