Yesterday was better for me.

Though I did not get all of my professional nor personal tasks done yesterday I did get in a good workout (note to self: repeat) and had a virtual dinner with Betsy as we each streamed “Top Chef”.

I thought my day today was going to be interrupted by a scheduled lunchtime all-hands meeting, but alas, it has been postponed. In preparation for this I ate an early breakfast, convinced myself to eat leftovers instead of trying to make my lunch, and postponed my workout until later (hey, maybe I can go outside for a walk today?). I guess that now I can go head’s down after submitting this blog post.

In Goofing Off News:

– I have been binge watching an animated series on Netflix called ”Total Drama” which completely spoofs “Survivor”. The show is a few years old, but I am finding it enjoyable. If you are old enough to remember “Wacky Races” it kind of compares to that, or perhaps the show ”Drawn Together” that was on Comedy Central many years ago?

– I am trying to learn how to make a faux ground beef from vegetables, in part to reduce my dependence on commercially-produced fake meat, and in part because my creative juices have been going crazy since I am not spending time commuting to/from an office. I won’t be able to make this yet however as I lack the vegetables needed to construct it. Perhaps I’ll make a grocery run next week?

– Speaking of the M6, I should probably give it a start today since I haven’t driven anywhere since Saturday, or was it Sunday, morning.

– I have yet to hear back from the roofing company with an estimate.

– I should figure out how to make yard cleanup my daily “workout” during these days when it is not raining nor is it 90°F. It’s the time, poison ivy, and amount dirty clothes produced which make this difficult for me to manage.

Okay, 0730, time for me to move along. Happy Social Distancing all!

Regarding the M6, why not drive her to fill up her tank somewhere? Gas is super cheap right now (even in MY neighborhood!) and it can never hurt to have a full tank of gas. Not only for escape needs, but isn’t it preferable for cars that will sit for a while? Moisture can’t as likely get in if it’s already filled. At least that’s what I’ve been told….and why Poppy got a fill-up on Tuesday. 🙂

    • I have heard traffic is very light, especially by Atlanta standards and have thought about going for a drive. I like your idea of filling the tank, but if I remember correctly I did so last weekend and haven’t driven anywhere since.

Today I am doing this crazy thing called “charging camera batteries” and may do a little solo photography this weekend.

A pretty productive day until afternoon. I don’t know if it’s network traffic or something on our system, but the mid afternoons play havoc with my connection. Granted, it’s marginal at best, but still…

Drove to deliver meds to Debbie’s mom that were sent here after she had already gone back to Jeanette’s. Just met on the front porch- no need in exposing mom to any more germs.

Picked up a pizza from a recommended place in Griffin on the way home. Saw a picture of GG and one of his staff sitting out front at George’s- waiting for orders. You in town types need to show them some love, too. A good burger is hard to beat! Faux ground beef indeed.

    • I feel for George’s and its staff. Unfortunately there are so many places that need business that it’s hard to spread the love.

    • barb says:

      if George’s wasn’t so far away……………..
We are thinking Heirloom Market BBQ for dinner tonight or tomorrow – told Mary & TJ maybe we’d bring them some, to look up the menu & let me know what sounds good. Maybe we’d come sit on their patio since its nice – we can bring our own table & chairs to stay far apart.

    • I keep thinking about the pizza from Grant Central East that Bonnie had last week… I may break down tomorrow at lunchtime and hike up to the village to get one.

  3. Bonnie says:

Glad you had a decent day after all, Paulie. *Ghost hug*

Did a virtual happy hour last night on Zoom, I feel so trendy. I think 4 is a good number, we added a 5th – and that was plenty – it gets weird, you can’t all talk at the same time.
I may try to figure out how to be the “leader” & set up more with some other friends – it was fun to just have regular conversation with friends. it seems pretty simple really.

    • bob says:

LOL! “you can’t all talk at the same time” Isn’t that how conversations are supposed to work? 🙂

      • barb says:

Bob – exactly! but you don’t really notice it when you are in person, there gets to be sometimes 2 conversations, ya know???
        It was funny……….

  5. Streaming the NPR “Austin 100” this morning to get acquainted with some new music. Traditionally NPR puts this list out to support their trip to SxSW, but since like everything else that was canceled this year…

  6. Poop, who stole the sun? 🙁

    • Steve says:

      I have plenty down here!

Bob, how is Travis holding up? Or how are you and Laura, which is the better question!!

      • bob says:

We had a pretty rough start, Laura and I have full work schedules and Travis just wanted to run around. We have gotten in to a groove now and his teachers have been awesome with video meetings and lessons sent in MS Teams. He now has work time, meeting time, and free time scheduled each day. It’s not perfect but it is working. I also just learned school is closed for another month, lord help us!

        • barb says:

wait- Bob- you work a full schedule? what’s up with that??? hahahaha
I can just imagine how fun it has been trying to get Travis on a schedule.

  7. Just ate a big lunch comprised of leftover potato and green bean curry and a slab of naan bread.

    • Bonnie says:

I am eating roasted sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts. The potatoes from the Asian market are good! One was white inside and hard and hard to cut up, but it roasted up nicely!

    • Hmmm, when we are allowed to freely mingle again we will have to go back. I wish I had but so much more now.

  8. Bonnie says:

Today is turning into “go through all the clothes in my closet day”. In particular, all my suits from my old brokerage firm life. Already have quite a pile to give away! It’s also fun in that many of them are too big anyway! 🙌🏻

    • Nice. I have half of a closet that are suits. Thankfully I can’t tell you the last time I wore a suit, and at this time there is only one reason I’d put one one – a funeral. I have been meaning to go through them and see if any fit, but haven’t “had the time”.

  9. barb says:

called Baldino’s to get a sandwich – the guy put me on hold, I asked him – are you busy?? he’s like – actually – yes! but there is only 2 of us……….

    • Steve says:

Barb, are you able to work remotely?

      • barb says:

yes – but I’m choosing not to.
I’m only 5 minutes away – and there are only 3 of us here at the most these days.

    • barb says:

Baldino’s won’t be getting any more of my togo business- if you are going to be open, have enough people. These was too many people there, and they have half the placed blocked off, so it was hard to stay 6 feet from others.
      that took way too long………..

    • Just read that Juniors Pizza in Summerhill has temporarily closed because people were not following the posted rules about keeping distance when picking up pizza. People are the worst!

  10. I think that when I “Clock Out” today I will challenge myself to clean, organize, and gather goods for donation instead of plopping my ass on the couch and watching tv all night.

  11. Struggling with the idea of ordering from Amazon instead of going to Target for some items that I need. You know I normally order from Amazon without flinching, but the times have been changing…

    • barb says:

you – struggling with ordering from amazon?

    • Crazy right? Is online ordering an okay thing to do in these times or is it increasing the problem?

    • Bonnie says:

As you already know, some items may not ship for a while… It seems to me that Prime items seems to take a month, but I just ordered filters for my air purifier from a third party and they’ll be here April 2. I see your point about “adding to the problem”. I see both sides—I’ll probably still order some stuff but won’t go crazy. A lot of the stuff I had planned on ordering recently I probably won’t be able to get it shipped anytime soon.

  12. Just gave the car a thirty minute drive. There were cars on the road, perhaps more than I expected? Another thing there was a lot of was pollen… oh boy!
