Oh yes, that’s right!
Originally this blog post was to be written at 5:00am as I was awake then, but alas the AT&T internet tube was clogged and I could neither transmit nor receive data. Pity there isn’t a better option than what I am tied to currently.

My HVAC installation was finally completed around 9:30pm. At that time the technician found a problem with the work, and also updated the firmware on the new thermostat. I thanked him for getting me set up, especially given the hour of the day. I will have to spend some time with the system this week, including trying to figure out how to get the thermostat screen to shut off since I don’t have a need for it to be constantly alit. I’ve also discovered that this system has a proprietary air filter — printers and ink cartridges anyone? 😒

If not for the ant bites yesterday’s multiple hours of yard work would have fantastic. Because I didn’t want to sit and code while the crew worked on the HVAC I chopped down a bush, mowed the front yard and weed whacked the curb, pulled some English ivy from the front of the house (ant bite land), and for a little closer to finishing the patio area. However, my workload has been increased by the discovery of a newly-dropped limb from my neighbor’s Sweetgum tree lying in my backyard. Ugh.

While waiting for the technician to arrive last night I may have rediscovered a lost appliance, my clothes dryer. Yesterday I moved a bunch of crap that sat in my basement for too long, vacuumed and swept around, behind and under the dryer, cleared the lint screen and exhaust tube (including the pipe that penetrates the wall to the outside), and the ran it for a few minutes to see what would happen; I think it still works!

Today I must dedicate all my time to the chore that allows my to afford the nice things in life, like beer. 😂

Today marks the end of the first six months of 2020. How has the first half of the year treated you? My first six months have been stressful, mostly due to things out of my control, otherwise not too bad.

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 197.0 pounds (-2.8 from last week’s weigh-in); I think elves are coming in during the middle of the night and recalibrating my scale to make me feel better.

*Fist bump*. The Mango Boy diet! 😄 I’m so glad you finally have A/C. Read the manual. 😏

  2. One thing I have not done well recently is keep up with my “100 Days of Swift” and “100 Days of SwiftUI” training for the past few days. Something had to give…

Today I plan to visit REI to pick up my online order of a new tent! Perhaps it is no surprise that I bought the same tent that Paulie has! 😂 (30% off!) And a matching camp table, and perhaps even a matching camp stove (TBD). REI sale ends the 6th.

Lurker- that poison ivy soap is called Fels Naptha

Busy as hell at work –
Paulie – glad you fixed the AC!

    • Thanks.

I have two bars of Fels Naphtha in my possession. Unusually I have read the packaging, and oh my. Here I thought it was a body soap for poison ivy but I was very wrong. Some people are also touting the poison ivy soap from Burt’s Bees, though I doubt it costs $0.88/bar.

Thanks, Barb! That looks hard core! I’ll make sure to order some today. 🙂

Congrats on the AC and dryer!! And like Bonnie said, RTFD.

Late to the party today, as I’ve been having MiFi issues that have finally cleared, then 2 hours of calls. this whole work thing is getting in the way… and I have a call at 5 this evening! This is an actual working call, as some folks don’t like us F’ing with the network during business hours. Can’t take a joke…

Cut grass while catching up on podcasts last night. That’s one thing I miss in this pandemic- my podcasts are going unlistened to. Not “Car Talk”, of course, but “Make Me Smart” went to a daily format since March and there is just no way. And I learned last week that “Only A Game” will be going off the air in September. A shame, for sure.
