When you combine a current Tuesday with rain you get a boring day in the life of Paulie.

Other than bottling rainwater and doing a little crop maintenance in between rainfalls I did little else for myself. My crop maintenance consisted of pruning some dead leaves from tomato and squash plants, as well as pulling a zucchini plant which had succumbed to some sort of pest. At the end of this growing season I will grade all of my efforts and figure out what I will be doing differently in order to produce more food next year.

Of course I did work for “XYZ Corp, Mark II”, but that consisted mainly of watching videos.

Last night I baked the pizza that I purchased on my Target run yesterday. I amended the cheese pizza with some Roma tomatoes from WLF and some pickled jalapeños which were not. The pizza, like most pizzas, was delicious and I know what I will be eating for lunch today. 😋

Most nights I watch a lot of YouTube, unfortunately with ads. I will be happy when I never see Christian Slater do an ad for HP and their “Wolf Security System” again. I know there is an ad-free subscription version of YouTube but I am unwilling to pay for it.

In addition to YouTube I have been rewatching “Monk” and finished rewatching Season 1 of “Ted Lasso” (Season 2 starts Friday), as well as finally working my way through Season 3 of “The Marvelous Mrs Maisel”. You may recall that I subscribed to Peacock (streaming service) for their Tour de France coverage, and am continuing to subscribe so I can watch “Monk” and the current season of “Making It” (a crafting “reality competition tv” show) ad free.

Today, my last day at 55 years old, is shaping up to be another boring day. The highlight of my day will be hanging out with Betsy tonight. It’s my turn to supply food for “Top Chef Night”, and at some point I will have to figure out what I will be making/bringing.

I wish you a happy and healthy Hump Day.

Up and at ’em early this morning. I was awake at 4:30, then rolled over for a few minutes and the clock had gone blank. Izzie was sleeping near the plug and bumped it enough for it to come lose. Bad Izzie, but thanks for trying to let me sleep.

We tried a “new” Mexican place last night. It’s been around a while as a restaurant, but the menu has had a complete makeover. They were short staffed and couldn’t handle what they had to serve. Debbie had eaten there a couple weeks ago and said it was fine. We will go back, only because the food was fine. Hopefully they get staffing issues sorted. And yes, I know lots of places are short staffed and be patient…. but still.

I may be forced to ride indoors if the monsoon continues. That will be a sweat fest, for sure.

Working races in N. Ga on the scooter all weekend and have already checked the oil and tires. Clothing choices are still being made- not used to riding slowly when it’s hot out and potentially raining. This will be a learning experience.

  2. The other day I ordered another photo box to act as a seed organizer. I swore that I ordered an identical one based on my previous Amazon order, but have once again learned that if you really want to identical items you need to order two at the same time. 🙁

I am buying a new iPhone today, the offer to upgrade to 5G ends today with Verizon.
There’s nothing wrong with my 8, but I feel the need to get a 12 pro.
Appt at the Verizon store is at 1200, almost did it all online, but I feel like it was charging me more than I thought it should be,

  4. I’m ashamed to admit that I bought zucchini today – WLF fail.
