Happy birthday to me
Happy birthday to me
Happy birth…..day
Happy birthday to me
🎂🧁🥳😂

Yesterday I made a trip to Wells Fargo to exchange a $20 bill for $20 in quarters. For some reason this act of legal tender exchange required a debit card, or at least an ID to prove that I had an account with the bank — for $20.

After Wells Fargo I spent the most amount of money for one trip to Aldi that I ever have, $113, with no single item costing more than $4.50. In fact, only seven of the things I purchased cost more than $3 each, so you can well imagine that I have refilled my pantry, refrigerator, and freezer. You can also imagine that I did not buy any alcohol. 😂

When I am no longer collecting a salary I will have to be more prudent with my purchases.

I swung into Kroger last night before going to Betsy’s, and do you think that I remembered to buy dill pickling spices? Noooooooo. I made dinner for “Top Chef” night — vegetarian sloppy Joe’s, Tater Tots, and salad — it was ridiculously tasty. I also did one of those things that I do too often, picked up a bottle of salad dressing from the shelf and not inspect it, which is how I wound up with Newman’s Own Ranch dressing instead of the Poppy Seed dressing I thought I was buying.

Today I will be getting a haircut, because it was the first convenient time for me to do so. I will also try to get my free coffee from Starbucks before doing so.
Tonight I will be going with Bonnie and her husband, who celebrated his birthday earlier this week, to see minor league baseball. We will be driving up to Gwinnett for the Gwinnett Braves Stripers game, though tonight the Stripers will be wearing a Hispanic team name to further confuse the issue. Do Mexican baseball teams assume English names occasionally to honor the American culture in Mexico?

WLF is poking along. My tomato production is starting to wane, though I heard from a neighbor that she has seen squirrels eating tomatoes, so that could be part of the issue too. I am still getting cucumbers, though I need to get out there and pick them before they get too large; see also green beans and eggplant. Sadly I am not getting any zucchini. And, it appears my okra is slowly coming along; it really wants heat and drier weather so maybe it will start producing flowers and fruit soon.

For awning I considered buying a metal sign for WLF. Remember when I asked whether you thought I started WLF in 2020 or 2021? That was going to be the “established year” I put onto the sign. The sign was $90, and has gone up in price since, so I decided it was a frivolous purchase.

When I am no longer collecting a salary I will have to be more prudent with my purchases.

  1. I wish I had known it was going to rain yesterday afternoon, because if I did I would have brought in the mop I have outside allowing to dry.

  2. Bonnie says:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🥳 See you tonight!

  3. ITP Lurker says:

You made it all the way around the sun again! Happy birthday! 🎉🎂🎊

A very happy birthday, young man!

The work thing was OK yesterday. The reason for being on site was to support the “test group” of 50, not all of which are coming in the whole week. I had zero calls dealing with them. I did learn our service elevator is out of order, so a large box of equipment that needs to go back to the Richmond warehouse will sit in my computer room, mush as it’s done since we deinstalled it.

I attempted to ride indoors last night, but I had moved the trainer to the man cave a couple months ago on a coolish evening. The cats decided to take the power supply apart and the AC cord to the DC converter was not to be found. I had a strong talking to with them, but they would not tell me where they had taken it. Damn cats.

I hit Publix on the way home and topped your Aldi score by $50. Just sitting here, thinking about what I bought that was so expensive and all I can think of is a box of wine (don’t judge).

I’d still like to make a minor league road trip someday…

Happy birthday! You are as old as me again!
I guess Amazon will get you the pickle spice?

Yesterday ended up being an all afternoon new phone set up day.
For some reason old & new would not communicate with each other, I ended up back at the Verizon store for way too long. Updated the iOS to the most recent update on the new phone, (I didn’t think of that as being an issue), but then we still had to reset the new phone completely a few more times. But, all is well now, everything transferred over.
Next up, get Disney+ & Hulu set up, as they are free with the phone package.

Today at 11 I’m going to a market research thing on breakfast bars, $30 to taste 2 different bars. Just over by perimeter mall, so I figured why not.

I just saw the craziest thing on Facebook. My friend lives in an RV and is traveling around. At their RV campground somewhere near Jackson Hole, they had a hot tub delivered to their site! What? It’s brand new, they drop it off and fill it with hot water. $65 per night.

  7. Bob says:

    Happy birthday Paulie!

  8. Barb says:

$30 to taste 1 breakfast bar. Took a total of 15 minutes (that does not include drive time). But it got me out of the house, then got a very humid walk in, and lunch with Allan.
    So, it was worth it.
