I solved today’s Wordle in five attempts; my starter today was FLAKE. Should have had in three, but I talked myself out of guessing the proper word.

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 186.8 pounds (+0.2 from last week’s weigh-in); exercise and portion control return today.

  1. NYT Mini Crossword in 46 seconds.

    Heardle fail.

    • Barb says:

not sure about that wordle word – but got it in 5.

you guys are so much better at crosswords – Mini took me 2 minutes.

      Heardle -nope.
70s – knew the song, not the name or the band.
      80s #1s – not in America that wasn’t. (otheres 80s, didn’t know it either)

  2. Now being told poly tunnel will be delivered Friday. And since it has yet to ship I have no idea how Amazon is going to process my payment — Will they honor my debit cards? Will they simply charge the entire amount to my credit card on file? This is the last time I accept a delay, if they can’t deliver by Friday I am canceling the order.

  3. David says:

Two correct Wordle letters in two but I ignominiously went down in flames without getting any other letters right. Nailed the 70s Heardle in 1 second, failed everywhere else. Mini in 37 seconds though

  4. Steve says:

Wordle in 6, Mini in 2.

Took Ollie and George with us for pony check at the vet’s last evening, then a walk around the nicer section of Newnan. Very much like Decatur, north of Clairmont.

Over the weekend, watched The Gray Man. Action packed, spy vs spy (Mad Magazine, anyone?) shoot ’em up. Great fun. Debbie says a sequel is already in the works.

    12:15 haircut appointment! Yippee!!

    • Barb says:

I wasn’t as thrilled by The Gray Man as most people – was a little too “Much” of everything.
Started Bosch: Legacy last night. Not bad so far, but I like the books, so its entertaining to me by the way they make it work for TV episodes.
David (you’ve read the books – right?) – did they ever have an earthquake at all in the books?

      • David says:

Barb, I don’t recall an earthquake ever being part of the plot line of the Bosch books. Yes, I have read all of them from the beginning, which also means that there could have been an earthquake along the way, but it feels much more like something TV writers would add than something Michael Connelly would include in one of his books.

I was completely unimpressed by the initial Bosch series and haven’t ever given it another try.

    • The Gray Man appears to be a Netflix thing. Oh well.

  5. Home from Waschsalon, where there internet was down so I had to use real money instead of credit card! Good thing I always carry some cash still…

Stopped at ERD, Target for drug that is supposed to keep me alive, and Kroger for food that I eat to try to kill me.

Was going to do a Publix run, and eat a free lunch at Tin Drum, but I will put those off until tomorrow.

  6. Debbie says:

Wordle in 6, that was just rude. Mini in :47

Tanner got another fairly good report this morning. His upper lid is swollen again, but the vet thinks that’s from her removing the sutures yesterday. Apparently, they were in there pretty good and she had to do lots of tugging to get them out. I’m leaving him with them until Thursday just to be sure it’s truly healing.

Luthersville doubled up on dollar stores this year; now we have a DG and a Family Dollar. One of the bright spots of my day yesterday was discovering that the Family Dollar had PF Chang dumplings in their frozen section!! I love those things and will happily make a meal of them. Having a source 5 minutes away is a real score!

You city dwellers don’t have to deal with your closest food source being 25 minutes away. The struggle is real. LOL

I read a review of an AppleTV show called Trying that said all good things. We’re trying it. The first episode had some laughs, but the focus – trying to get pregnant – may be too unrelatable to us to keep going.

We also started Peaky Blinders, but weren’t particulary hooked. We really need a new show so we don’t have to resort to Big Bang reruns that we’ve seen 5 times each already.

  7. Left arm and wrist nailed by a fucking ant while working WLF. Owie! Whenever the time comes for me no longer work WLF I will certainly not miss getting ant bites.

  8. Jenka says:

Weight rack installation a success! It is a badass full rack that professionals use. This morning I got up and did back squats and strict presses. WOO HOO! The best part is I only set my alarm for 15 minutes earlier than usual!

Braves game was fun as usual. It’s finally not a million degrees out so it’s actually pleasant.

Yesterday’s Wordle in 4 using CRANE. I’ve seen a lot of people on the Machine of Faces utterly fail today, so I’m worried.

  9. My Apple Watch has just attempted to inexplicably dial 911 three times. WTF, Apple?

More problematic is that by turning off the feature that dials 911, a long press on the button on the watch, it appears I can’t bring up Apple Pay on the watch now either. I wonder it the button is fucked? If so, I will have to wait until the next watch version released before getting another one.
