I won’t make the obvious pun that you will probably encounter multiple times today.

I’m considering making a doctor appointment to figure out why I can’t shake this sickly feeling I have had since the beginning of February.

Due to the increasing cost of my homeowners insurance I have opted to pay monthly. I’m not thrilled by this, but it beats having a conniption each year paying one lump sum.

I solved today’s Wordle in three attempts; my starter today was ARGOT

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 197.0 pounds (-0.2 from last week’s weigh-in); meh

  1. Braving the cold this morning at the Waschsalon. Haven’t done laundry since Florida, so it’s high time to get some done.

I’m in on the pun. Wordle in 5 starting with BIKER. Mini in 26. Beat that, Barb. 😉

Argot? What the hell is that? Wordle in 4 starting with AISLE.

We are looking at our homeowners as well. It seems like a high price to pay.

Our little patch of bamboo, which the horses love to stand in when it’s hot, was in need of some TLC. I took 3 loads of downed stalks back to the burn pile, while the little limbs scratched me several times. Debbie tried to help bu her knee was not a fan of the uneven ground. I think I finally have her “my little chainsaw” set properly. I had to bring out my big one, as the little one is finicky and doesn’t like to start. The big one is a dream.

George is officially on my list. I let him out around 3, he decided it was time to come in at 4 and it took me 15 minutes to get him to come inside. He has a fear of the door, or of coming inside. If you open the door, he stands there. If you reach for him, he backs away. If you stand of the porch, he moves to the carport. Treats help sometimes. I think he will have the shock collar soon to inspire him to come in.

    • It means jargon. I learned it a few months ago while doing a Washington Post crossword.

    • David says:

How old is George? My old dog Ginger is doing something similar with regard to not wanting to go up the stairs at when it’s bedtime. It’s not that she can’t do the stairs, it’s that she won’t. Definitely maddening, particularly when some days she’ll go up just fine. My wife thinks maybe Ginger fell on the stairs or something, so maybe George got hit by the door on the way out? Will he work for food? Meaning can you grease the skids with treats? That can definitely solve one problem and create new ones, but at 4:00 AM, I’d say you gotta do what you gotta do.

      • steve says:

George is just a year old. He reacts like he was mistreated by his breeder. He’s very skittish- Debbie sneezed last night and George scattered like he was being shot at. We do use treats, but even that isn’t enough incentive.

        • David says:

Ooooh, poor George. Yes, it sure sounds like someone did him wrong. Hopefully he’ll settle into a new normal. We had a beagle once who was mistreated prior to being with us. She was the best dog once she realized she was safe.

    • Jenka says:

There is no way my dog gets let out at 3:00 am. But I am continuously thankful that my dog is like a teenager- he sleeps until noon and can hold his business for like 20 hours. There are times when I have to force him to go out because we’re leaving the house for a few hours.

      • steve says:

He’s good about not being a chow hound, but that also means he eats when he wants. We may be overfeeding him, but he’s not at all fat. If he wasn’t a barker, we could ignore him, but he starts whining, then he barks. Same way to come back in…

Very nice weekend! We went to see Regina Spektor at the Tabernacle and it was a great show. Sunday we got mani-pedis and then went to Pure. Yesterday was sloth and Netflix all day. Very nice!

  5. Home from Waschsalon, as well as a quick pop into ERD to stop at Kroger and Lowe’s. I thought about going into Target as well, but didn’t want to be that productive. 🙂

  6. Barb says:

busy morning – being gone for over a week, and the guy that was covering for me is now on vacation. I’m so lost at the moment…….
3 hour time change isn’t helping at all

  7. Debbie says:

Wordle in 3 starting with SAINT.

Ortho says quadriceps tendonitis. Physical therapy and antinflamatory meds. Some minor arthritis in my knee, but nothing problematic. Good news and it just has to run its course. He said riding is fine so yay!

Physical therapist can’t get me in until April. Wait times for medical care are getting ridiculous. That’s the major complaint about universal healthcare systems and we have the privilege of paying for it.
