Spring Cleaning started early this year…

This is the recipe for the vegetarian breakfast sausages I made yesterday.

Wordle in 4 and coulda been 3.

I guess it snowed for almost 2 hours. I think we have a good inch. Enough to cover nicely. Debbie’s office closed at 3 and she had to carefully drive home. I think our maiden voyage with the trailer this weekend might be postponed.

I got up this morning and was able to take my shower, but noticed the water pressure was dropping. I think my light bulb heater isn’t working in the well house and the filter froze. I’ll work on that as soon as I have more daylight.

It’s pretty crazy how much snow you got down there, we had some flurries but there is nothing on the ground now.
Not much going on up here in the burbs, truck is still in the shop and has been since January 6th. Hope to get it back this week. Travis has the flu and has been bed ridden for 3 days, I think next year he will want the flu shot. Bowling tonight, living out the suburban dad dreams.
Can’t wait for the temps to go up a little, I need to get out on the bike!

Bummer for Travis – hope he’s getting better.

Our camper is still over at 3Way getting its yearly maintenance, but – we told them to take their time as we don’t have a trip planned. Can’t believe the truck is still not done. (ok, yeah – I can believe it)

      • Bob says:

Thanks, fever is gone so now he is on the mend. Still doesn’t feel great but getting better. School was closed yesterday and today is remote learning so he will not miss any which is good. Next week is soccer try-outs so at least he will be well rested 🙂

I was told truck would be 2 weeks so expected a little longer. I called on Friday and they said it is in progress and in the shop. I expect it today or tomorrow (hopefully).

    • Jenka says:

Silver lining is that Travis is not missing much school! Finn’s school (follows Cobb County schools) is closed again today.

  3. Steve says:

A friend’s son is in ICU with the flu- in an induced coma… that ain’t nothing to play with.

  4. Barb says:

It was just cold up here in Marietta – nothing to know the craziness that was going on south of us.

Went over to the Legion to see what the Queen of Hearts game is all about – you buy tickets for $2 each & then they draw just one. That person gets to draw from the deck of cards. If they draw the Queen of Hearts, they get the whole pot (last night it was $9040). Other cards are worth various amounts from $50-$200. The same deck is used until the Queen is drawn. It was something to do while we had a beer. The pot will be more next week.
After that we went to El Ranchero for some dinner.

  5. We have a good layer of snow on the ground at the ITP Estate. I did sixty minutes on the trainer yesterday, it was tough sledding. I can’t wait for the temps to rise so that I can ride outdoors.

Surprised you northerners received no snow.

I keep forgetting to mention here that they want $95 for the 60-mile Bo Bikes Bama ride. That’s far too rich for my blood, especially since I can self-support a ride of that length.

  6. You all may want to start using Betsy’s Wordle strategy of playing STAIN and POULE, because she routinely bests my scores; today she got it in three again,

  7. Jenka says:

Yeah, it snowed all afternoon yesterday and we got about three inches. Because the temp is still below freezing the snow just rested in place, no melting. Emory is remote again today, and it is warranted. My street is still covered in what is probably now frozen snow.

Barb, to answer your question from yesterday: his GA Bar card was in his wallet so they knew he was a lawyer and were able to google him and find his office number. He called the office and they gave him Kevin’s cell. He lives in Smyrna but he had taken an Uber to Brewhouse to watch a soccer game and found the wallet in the street while he was getting out of the car. Apparently Kevin had left his wallet on top of the car while he was paying for parking and it stayed on the roof until Little Five. Go figure!

  8. Steve says:

SAINT and PROUD are normal starters for me, as well as AISLE

  9. Sal says:

Cobb Schools are in session today. Glad Travis is on the mend.
Wordle in 3. Not much news today.

  10. Steve says:

Y’all know I lurv me some plumbing… especially when it’s below freezing! Apparently, I broke a pipe when I went to put the space heater in and the cover back on the well house. I went to check to see how it was doing and the water is gently rolling down the hill! Fuck! Fortunately, I had all the pieces and parts to reconnect. My glue was a bit sketchy, but it seems to be holding. Will re-plumb and put the valves back in on a sunny spring day!

  11. Barb says:

just got back from my mammogram appt – went to the Windy Hill Wellstar instead of the East Cobb one. Its very small & fast – I think I’ll go there next year when it’s time to do this fun stuff again.
