Turned out to be a decent day of choring, grocery shopping making dinner. My mood soured a bit when I went onto the deck and saw rabbit scampering away through WLF. My neighborhood seems to have lost all of its outdoor cats, which is too bad for me since I have no interest in owning one.
It’s good for me to start using my leeks, because I found two had started producing scapes, which makes the leek less desirable to eat. I’ve also learned that next year I need to plant my leeks deeper in order to get more white in the stalk.
Wordle: six, my starter was SNACK
If frogs and toads could understand English do you think they’ pd be pissed off that most of us can’t tell the difference between them?
probably – I don’t know the difference.
I’m leavin’ on a jet plane, to Indy for a conference and some time with my brother. I’m traveling so much these days that I need to get the Skymiles Platinum card.
Wordle fail, it was a goddamn elevator ride straight to hell, just like my mama said.
I know this early morning fun at the airport – have a good time in INdy.
I can send you a referral code if you get the Delta Amex Skymiles Platinum card.
It gets you plenty of FF & MQD miles.
Yes, please. I had a super smooth flight to Indy, which these days feels like a blessing and a miracle. I took a decent deal to upgrade to first class. Money well spent.
I sent a text with a link – and extra FF miles for me is never a bad thing (I do need to use those miles more often, but I really liked using them last year for the upgrade to Amsterdam). so – next year is Croatia – I will probably use some then.
Wordle in 6 and I can see a lot of folks going down in flames today besides David (safe travels).
There was finally exercise yesterday, if you can call it that. A “run” of 2 miles in 23 minutes. Ugh. I may be beyond a point where I can regain running fitness, but I’ll stick with it for a while.
Today celebrates 30 years at the Fed! It’s still fun and I like the people I work with. I’m just ready to be on my own schedule and relax. 4 months to go.

Thank you, Steve. It’s a pain in the ass setting up at o-dark-thirty to be on the first flight out but I’m always grate when I get out town on time before the day has had a chance to melt down. My daughter flew to Newark for a NYC school trip yesterday. We were both amazed that she made it with only a minor delay.
Newark is not in a good place on so many levels. Fortunately, I don’t see a need to go back in my remaining time with the Fed.
I had a friend trying to re-route a trip away from Newark yesterday – what a PITA that airport has become.
Glad she made it without much issue
Got out for a little hike last night at Sope Creek with Allan & Tammy – she had brought her “new to her” bike by for some new handlebar tape & a saddle adjustment.
It was a nice evening to get a little exercise.
Then – we headed to Kennesaw to see a friend singing – and Allan needed to give him something. So, pizza for dinner – Pisano’s has some decent pizza. And – it was $2 domestic drafts – so we had a couple cheap beers. (& just by chance, it was on Upside & Seated both – got a whole 3% from Upside, but Seated should be 15% – we will see when it posts)
Jenka – the Red Sox made GMA – they had a crazy catch in the outfield last night.
I know, it was a cool catch. I missed it because we were switching back and forth between that and the Braves. Gotta get a split screen TV!
We used to have it, it was called Picture in Picture!
crazy day – WORDLE IN 3!!!
Go Barb!!
I managed to go grocery shopping but then I was too wiped to cook so we went to Surin. The Red Sox games have been starting at 6:40 this week (SUCH a weird time, they were in Detroit which means there it was 5:40?!) so I have missed the first couple of innings all week.
Raining on the Giro this morning. A big crash at the front because of the slippery conditions and they had to neutralize. One second the guy was up and in the blink of an eye, he was on the deck.
Back from a forty mile ride to Stone Mountain and back. Obviously had a tail wind on the way out, suffered mightily on the return.
Good for you!
And now I’ve awoken from my post-ride nap. Also good for me. 😀
Wow, well done!
Beautiful morning for a ride
It was humid to start, but yes it was a nice day to struggle on the bike.
As much as I love to ride, ride like this morning’s really knock me for a loop. I’ve yet to recover.
The power JUST came back on, but I had just told my boss I was going for a ride as my battery was getting low. All true, and I’m still going for a ride!
Ride well!
