Wet, wet, wet, so I spent the majority of yesterday indoors. At least I got almost everything packed for BRAG.

Wordle in 4.
Debbie warned me to be careful on the drive home as it was P O U R I N G on the southside. I encountered just one heavy-ish shower and that was downtown. You could tell there had been rain, but it really stayed south. Almost 3.5 inches just yesterday.
As it was raining, there was no exercise. The road bike got off the trainer for Saturday’s ride and hasn’t returned. Which reminds me to cancel Zwift for the summer.

I woke up during the night to the sound of rain… again. I am going to have to go outside and dump some water today, since I have no way of storing it for the future.
Spoke too soon, was able to fill six empty gallon jugs with captured rainwater.
very boring day here yesterday –
Allan went down to the airport to check on all the bikes – and as usual, the people that are on the airport bike team can just destroy bikes – he is always very annoyed with them. But – as I told him, that’s just more OT hours for him.
Started watching the 3rd season of Dark Winds – its an interesting series (I think originally aired on AMC) that takes place out on the Navaho reservation. It moves slow, but not a bad series.
These aren’t delicate racing bikes… what could they be doing? Running them over?
who knows, trying to adjust saddles, somehow screw up the cables, he is baffled by these people.
Are thee Fire Department bikes? I didn’t know the FD had “bike cops.”
EMT’s I think. At the airport.
EMTs at the airport on bikes – since it takes so much time to get the ambulance or truck to the terminal, they have a crew (or crews) there – I think 7am-7pm everyday.
There could be cops too…….. I don’t know
you wouldn’t believe how many sickly people fly – I was amazed when Allan would tell me stories
Ahhhh, Bike EMTs, that makes more sense.
Oh, I’d absolutely believe how many sickly people fly
– people are selfish
– flying is expensive
– airlines are assholes
Remind him of all of the new things that you’ve been getting, that this OT can go toward paying.
oh, he doesn’t mind the pay for the OT, he just hates the stupidity of the people that use the bikes.
Mike Palmeri has retired again, he had been out there sort of keeping the bikes under control – so now its a total mess again.
I’ll see Palmeri on the bus ride from Hartwell to Rome on Saturday.
Busy day at work yesterday. Then Finn said he wanted crab legs so we took him to Fontaine’s. The crab legs at Fontaine’s are almost half the price that they are at Six Feet.
Red Sox have had a four game losing streak and if we don’t win today we get swept by the Brewers. Ugh.
Its good to know about the price of crab legs – I love them, but I rarely eat them.
I need to get back to VA/HI too, its been way too long.
Surprisingly my favorite thing on the menu there is the muffaletta. It’s super delicious and you can get the 1/4 muffaletta and it’s plenty of food (comes with a side) and only $10. Kevin and I actually share the 1/4 one but most people would want the whole thing.
olive salad on a muffaletta – I will never want one of those sandwiches
You could probably order it without the olive spread, but that’s half the flavor so I don’t think it’d be worth it. Oh well!
I think I only eat mufaletta in New Orleans, they go together.
Hey Jenka, I want crab legs… 😀
Okay, I’ll take you to Fontaine’s but not Six Feet! 🙂
YAY! 🙂
Thought my friend Sluggo had crossed over the Great Silver Streak, but when I returned a few minutes later, it had turned around. I’m sure it’s just getting old, and I can relate.
I think you should incorporate “The adventures of Sluggo” in the daily blog 🙂
Haha. I’m surprised how many times I’ve seen this same(?) slug, thankfully never near any crops.
better mark that slug somehow so you will know if its the same one
Was trying to think of how to attach an AirTag on it so that I could track its movements. Hahaha
Atlanta United tonight so we had to pre-bowl last night. It took me a couple games to warm up, I think I rolled like a 130 and 140 before hitting my stride and rolling a 187.
I’m so over this rain, I need to cut my lawn but it is too wet to cut. Hopefully by Friday we will get a dry day.
Speaking of weather, if the forecast comes true we are looking at a glorious week on BRAG! Cool overnight and highs only in the 80’s during the day. Can’t wait!
And nothing but flat roads. 😀
That is seriously good news. I was afraid it would be another week of monsoon season. I hope that comes true.
I’m hoping to get one more lawn cut in Friday so that it’s not knee-high when I return.
There is a wide variety of mushrooms in my front yard loving this weather, however.
We will also be at the United game! 🙂
And I will be at The EARL!
And I will be out for dinner with Kevin somewhere!
What is that bright, yellow object in the sky? I’m scared!!!
it isn’t over here
It was scared and went away.
My tomato plants are going gangbusters! I am either going to have a fantastic, or horrific year depending on the weather, strength of the plants, and amount the critters steal/destroy.
Better start perfecting that tomato sauce recipe.
I have been very pleased with my test run. Now it’s hoping that the forces which conspire to keep me from reaping what I’ve sown don’t eff me again.
