You will shake your head when I tell you this, but I am reading a really great book about okra called “The Whole Okra: A Seed to Stem Celebration” written by Chris Smith. I’m reading this in anticipation of Wee Little Farm’s okra production later this summer, even though my okra growing has been underwhelming so far.

The refrigerator pickles I made yesterday were made using Alton Brown’s Bread & Butter Pickle recipe.

Last night I made a nest of Asian glass noodles and ate it with some yellow squash, zucchini, green bell pepper, and a pepper of unknown variety, all of which were harvested from Wee Little Farm.

My movie last night for Monday Dinner and a Movie was High Fidelity. I just realized that we missed John Cusak’s 59th birthday on June 28th.

  1. Rained again last night, might rain again today. Rain will stop when I am not in town, of course. Rats.

It started raining last night just as we arrived at the sushi place. It was done by the time we left. Convenient!

Rookie Red Sox player hit an inside-the-park home run and then a grand slam during the game last night. I would say that’s pretty good game for a rookie!

    Wordle in 4.

My ride last night ended with rain and a clap of thunder that made me jump. I was prepared, but still didn’t like getting wet.

    On the way to Miami.

  4. Another 1.75” of rain yesterday. If fell so quickly that WLF had some soil erosion. I will be thinking of solutions for this all week.

  5. Happy Canada Day, eh!

  6. Summer is officially here for me, first amazing tomato sandwich with salt and Duke’s mayonnaise on cheap white bread has been made!

I was just reminded that today is Bobby Bonilla Day. Yet another thing to make fun of the Mets about.

For those who are not baseball fans, Bobby Bonilla was a Mets player who in 2000 they wanted to buy out of his $6 million contract but they couldn’t afford it. So he negotiated a deal where for 35 years every July 1 the Mets pay him $1.2 million for doing nothing. LOLOLOLOL!

nothing much going on here at all – its mid 80s, so it isn’t horrible – yesterday there was a nice breeze, so sitting out in the porch was very pleasant.

Connie & I were looking thru some of the boxes of stamps – my grandpa was a huge stamp collector.
I’m sure they are worth money – but I don’t know if I have the desire & effort to try to figure it all out.
I’m sure if we sold them – we wouldn’t get even close to the value.

  9. Barb says:

Allan is at the Denver airport with the 2 nephews & niece – of course they are there plenty early – so I bet he will treat them to some food inside the terminal.
(Katrina said the airport was too expensive, so they should pack a sandwich)
