I’ve not seen Sluggo in a handful of days, so I expect it’s gone to another level of existence (read “died”). I can’t imagine how Sluggo can survive this heat and dry weather, so I think that I’m correct.

I did stay indoors for most of yesterday, save the couple of hours in the morning I sweat working in Wee Little Farm, declining to ride last night.

Yesterday was a money spending day! In addition to paying my healthcare premium, I ordered a reconditioned Shark vacuum from Amazon, and registered for the NC Mountain Ride. Good thing I have so much money coming in! Oh, wait…

While not cheap, the vacuum was much cheaper than a new one, which satisfies me since I will be pushing it to its limits with the ITP Estate’s needs.

Last night’s dinner was ramen with WLF vegetables — yellow squash, long purple eggplant, green pepper, and onion.

Wordle: four, my starter was STAGE

  1. It’s a shame that the Mets have to play so many games against the Braves, because they cannot beat them at all.

    Wordle in 4.

We’ve been trying to get some disk drives shredded and the company finally showed up yesterday to do the work. The box truck was divided into the generator area and the work space, which didn’t even have a fan. Due to other work going on, we couldn’t even let them use the shade of the loading dock. Fortunately it only took an hour or so, but it was hot for the brief couple of times I was out there.

Nothing else to report. My “new” iPad should arrive today and I’ll start moving everything over to it. What. Fun.

    Safe travels, Barb!

You have to move things over to it? Mine came with everything already on it. It wasn’t organized, but everything was there.

I don’t really speak Apple, so I think all my password files and whatnot… not exactly sure.

  3. My ability to talk myself out of riding is stellar! As penance I mowed the front yard again. Oh, I also tried a biscuit recipe which uses “pancake mix”; it was pretty decent.

Yeah, the Braves-Mets game last night was kind of a joke, although the Mets rallied a little in the last third. I made Italian skillet for dinner and enjoyed a quiet evening. Red Sox are on the left coast and the games don’t even start until almost 10:00 so I haven’t been watching.

On the way in to work this morning my car ticked over to 16,000 miles. Heh.

  5. First round of choring done. Mowed lawn, worked some in WLF, hung sweat-drenched clothes outside to dry, and washed dishes. Now I will allow myself a few minutes of rest before jumping into the shower to wash off.

More name changing fun. Barb, you are lucky you changed your name before shit got so complicated. So yesterday I realized that now that my driver’s license says O’Sullivan I can’t fly to Florida next month because my Delta ticket says Fyfe. So I had to go into my Delta account and upload a scan of my DL and also my marriage certificate. They say it will take two days to make the change and after that I have to call (CALL?!) Delta Reservations to get my ticket re-issued with the new name.

THEN I realized that I can’t fly to Mexico in December because my Delta account will say O’Sullivan but my passport will say Fyfe. And also my passport will expire in May, and Delta won’t allow boarding if you passport expires within 6 months. So now I have to renew my passport, and I will have to start that process now because who KNOWS how long it will take.

    Ugh.

When will we learn that making a woman change her name when she gets married isn’t really logical? I did “make” my first wife change hers as she was still using her first husband’s last name- and she could have changed it to her maiden name for all I cared.

    • Barb says:

I’ve heard passports are coming back in record time. Do it now.

Fun times with Delta, but honestly, I don’t mind calling in, most of the people I’ve had to talk to were very knowledgeable & took care of my issue quick. I hate the chat. If the rep acts like they can’t do something, say thanks & call back.

Yes, my friend said hers took six weeks and it was easy.

I just have a total phone-phobia, I will avoid using the phone at all costs. Text, email, even Facetime are all fine, but I will not use the phone. *sigh*

    • I think my passport renewal took three weeks when I renewed in February. However, I wasn’t changing my name, so maybe that helped matters.

At T19 flying United. I haven’t been in the T gate area in forever.
    It’s pretty nice.
TSA was the usual shitshow – of course we got in the wrong line, but finally got thru.
Checking in at United & checking bags was excellent, might have to use more of TJs FF miles!

    MARTA was even uneventful.

    • Steve says:

      Burn all those FF miles!

It’s been more than a minute that I’ve flown United and I don’t remember where I was going!! Prolly a bike race.
