Looks as if more rain is coming starting this weekend. I hope it holds off long enough for Saturday’s ride, and then rains itself out ahead of a nice, dry week for BRAG. *fingers crossed*
In 5. And I thought of the word a little while ago and it didn’t click.
We think we’re very close to getting the approval to hire my replacement. We have approval from national IT and it just has to go to our district VP for a last blessing. Good news.
More or less a “good” run last night. At least closer to an actual run than previous.
We did go for a decent walk – Allan was in the mood for pizza, so I suggested trying this place near the Marietta Square that used to be a coffee stand – it’s a takeout only place (but it does has 2 4 tops on the little deck where you order). Parked at a little park right nearby, walked all over (about 4 miles), stopped for the pizza & got to the park & it was “overrun” with families & children. So, we brought the pizza home & ate it on our deck. Pizza was tasty, and not overly expensive.
I totally agree that the only thing I miss about running was that it was easy to do, requires no equipment, you can do it wherever, especially traveling. Also it’s faster than walking. But otherwise: no.
Car recall parts have been installed, so the dealership finally did things right. They said mid to late afternoon, they texted & said it was done.
But – weird thing happened – at lunch we saw the strangest electric Honda scooter – and when I went inside to pickup my ppwk, they had a display of it. It folds up into a square with a handle – so you can take it into your office to charge? Called a Motocompacto E-scooter. If I was an urban commuter, for a $1000, this thing looks pretty cool.
I know!!! We were at lunch, and 2 people scooted by, and we were like – that the heck is that??? Allan (of course) knew what it was. Then I walk into the dealership – and there was a display.
This MLB season it appears as though the league decided to move the game times up by about a half an hour. All MLB games start at 6:45 Eastern, 5:45 Central, etc. They must have done polling and found that fans want the games to end earlier? I sure do, I rarely am able to stay up for the end of a weeknight game.
Red Sox lost to the Mets, but at least we took the series. Before that we took Finn to Pure and had a delicious steak burrito.
My last day at work this week, tomorrow we are going up to the cabin for the holiday weekend. We are replacing all three appliances in the kitchen up there, so we have to get up there early tomorrow morning to take delivery.
Yeah, yesterday I joined a couple of FB groups for each city, and I’ve already got some good tips and ideas. I booked the Vienna Opera House, THAT is going to be cool. I also booked a lunch buffet river cruise in Prague on my actual birthday, apparently it’s a great way to see the old parts of the city. Getting excited!
Last day in Orlando! I’m ready to get back home, will make the drive tomorrow.
Dad is doing well, he is now in rehab doing PT (feels weird saying he is in rehab since he quit drinking over 20 years ago) and yesterday looked much more alert. Strange how that happens when you eat 3 meals a day and do some exercise. He will spend the next week or 2 there then the fun begins on next steps. We are discussing that tonight.
Went for a ride after work yesterday and holy shit is it hot down here! As an added bonus I got stung by a bee above my eye, good times! Little fucker hit me between my glasses and helmet and got me good, almost wrecked trying to get him off me.
Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday
Bee stings are NO FUN.
Bob – I may ask you to share your location Saturday, there’s always a good chance, when we have plans the day after Allan is at the firehouse, that something will happen & we will run late. We won’t be up for the long 65 mile ride anyway, so we just want to time it to be done about the same time. Or come find you all out on the route.
I have no problem with that Barb. Additionally, I can’t keep up with the group and there looks to be a shortcut at about 30 miles in that will cut 18 miles off. That brings the ride down to 47 miles which may be more doable.
we can probably/maybe do 47 – I guess I ought to look at the maps, and maybe figure out how to download Ride with GPS to my wahoo. (I’ve never bothered with it)
No need to download the app, I use my Garmin and ride with GPS will link up with Garmin connect so I can send the route directly to my device through Connect. I’m sure Wahoo has something like that too.

Wordle in progress. I have 2 letters and I’m playing 5! I wanted to see your word, which doesn’t help much.
Helped me, but now much. 🙂
Just transplanted some Jerusalem artichoke (aka sunchocke) that my buddy Hank transported from Colorado for me.

What is this “run”’of which you speak? Haha. The only thing I miss about running is how convenient it is to do, especially when traveling.
running, it is for the youngsters (IMHO).

For the young, and physically superior freaks. I’m no longer in the first category, and have never been in the second.

I’m still not convinced about the safety of scooters, especially with Atlanta road and sidewalk conditions.
Jesus, from the photos I just saw it looks like you are riding on a suitcase!

I told Kevin to get 1, for his 1 mile commute.

good times – new appliances!!!
Send pics!
(I know, I like weird stuff)
BTW – did you find any good Facebook groups about the places you are going in Europe)
I will happily send pics! I love that shit, too.

That’s awesome you found some good stuff that way.
wordle in 5 – I had to report to the google

OMG, that SUCKS!

What I do with my Wahoo is: pin the route in the RideWithGPs app, and then sync my Wahoo which downloads the route to the device.
I think I figured it out – some of the routes from the sosabee website are now in my wahoo
A busy morning!
Good to hear dad is doing well, Bob.
I know running is a young(er) persons’ game, but I still am trying.
Keep trying Steve, perhaps you fall into the second category. 😉
At the Willy’s at West Paces Ferry with Allan, this place is over run with Pace Academy teenagers.
So many little rich kids.
Done with a 35 mile ride with Stan out to the monastery and back. Fun times.
we need to get back out to that Arabia Mtn trail, I guess they got that bridge fixed so you can go the whole way?
We started at the farm and ride to the monastery with no difficulty
Speaking of birthdays, my 60th is in exactly two months. Still not sure what I will be doing yet.
We will be having a party here Friday 7/18, and maybe again Saturday 7/19 (with leftovers) if any of y’all want to put it on the calendar.
If I am in town I will be there!
