A good, hard, bicycle ride wipes me out like little else. After driving to Stan’s, drinking one high alcohol beer, and then getting home, I ate a very late lunch and crashed on the couch for hours.
Speaking of riding, it unfortunately looks as if we may get a little wet riding tomorrow. š
Though I’d like to be riding again today, I’m getting my front yard and WLF in order ahead of the rain predicted for the next handful of days.
I’m starting to see lightning bugs again. I can’t express how much this makes me smile.
Wordle: five, my starter was WATER
Been a very productive morning thus far:
– made and ate breakfast
– set up payment for my ridiculously high health insurance premium
– watered WLF (I know, all the talk about rain but it needed more water today)
– mowed the front yard, and edged it with the weed eater
– hacked back a portion of WLF that I let go feral (note to self: that area needs a lot more workā¦)
Only ānegativeā was that in doing the latter I pulled back a tarp and ruined the morning for two small snakes which were slumbering beneath it.
Still on my To Do list:
– start gathering BRAG stuff
– make and eat lunch
– buy beer for after tomorrowās ride
where was the start yesterday – the farm?? (in comparison to the Nature Center big lot that we’ve parked at before)
Yes, the parking lot across from the farm. We were going to start at Stonecrest Mall, but since I drove Stan suggested we start at the farm to protect my car. I didnāt care either way, so we went to the farm, which also thankfully chopped off about six miles of riding. In total we did almost 35 miles, with a sneaky amount of climbing (3000 ft?). I was whopped when we were done.
I think I will like that ride more now with the e-bike, its got plenty of climbing.
What ride is this. Before Stonecrest was built, we had a road race there.
I rode with Stan yesterday. We started at the farm near Conyers, and rode out to the Holy Monastery and and back on the path. In total about 34.5 miles with many ups and downs.
Arabia Mountain trail
Thanks, couldnāt remember the name.
Also rode past some spots I know fairly well thanks to the Black Sheep I laid out there with Surly.
Wordle in 4 – Iowa girl could have done better if I’d thought a little longer
not much going on around here –
met Allan for an impromptu lunch at Willys (by OK Cafe) – it was over run by Pace Academy kids – I guess school got out.
Went for a 4.6 mile neighborhood walk with Sally after work.
Watched the Survivor season finale – I really didn’t care who won, all were decent people at the end, and all you could say deserved to win.
Wordle in 3. A lucky guess on 2 got me first and last letters.
At WH before the Lowes run to get the mounting pieces for rhe lighting project in the shop.
They are backing up out the door, so I better eat and run.

I bow down to all of you who beat me in Wordle today. I was punished for changing the first letter in my start word from the one Iād chosen six out of the past seven days.
Slowly harvesting garlic. Some interesting findings. First, a lot of smaller than da, but confusingly, so heads donāt appear to have splintered into cloves; instead the entire head is just one clove if you will. The head splits into cloves with freezing temperatures, and we certain had a few spells of that this past winter.
Looks like another day for me to ignore the stock marketā¦
I ignore it as much as possible –
